Plant Experiment Reflection #2

My question is: Can a plant survive without sunlight? My hypothesis was: If I don’t give my plant sunlight then it will not grow as much because it only has water.

The control plant is 8 centimeters in length. The color of the control plant is green. There are 18 leaves. Some of the plants are falling down but most of the plants are growing straight up. The plant is growing about a centimeter every day. The change from the start was that there were no buds in the plant. But now it has some buds in the plant. I think the control plants are very healthy.

This is my groups control plant.

The color of my group’s experimental quad is yellow. There are only 6 leaves in my groups manipulative quad. The height of the highest plant in the manipulative quad is 7 and a half centimeters. A lot of our group’s manipulative plants are falling down but 2 plants are growing straight up. The rate of growth is 5 centimeters and 1 centimeter each day. Most days it only grows 1 centimeter. The change since the start is that most of the plants are falling down. I think the manipulative is falling down because it’s looking for some sunlight.

The experimental plant is lighter in color and has fewer leaves.

I think the experimental plant is yellow and not thriving because it doesn’t not have sunlight but is given air and water. This makes me realize plants need sunlight, air and water to survive. Plants need sunlight, air and water in order to make food.
