Passion Project 4

Along the way, I have had difficulties coming up with jokes. For example, in the beginning, I made an introduction and then couldn’t come up with jokes. At the same time, I was distracted. I thought that this wasn’t the right time so I came back to it later. In the meantime, I did my homework. When I came back to the script I felt much better because I wasn’t stressed out. I also thought of something that was funny. I thought that I could use the different cultures in my family to make a script. Even though my mom and dad both speak Spanish, there are many idiomatic differences. Words and phrases have different meanings. For example, in Argentina, pileta is a pool in but in Puerto Rico, pileta is a sink. I can use those differences and make them into jokes.

After I did my homework I felt better to come up with jokes. Now that I was focused I could write all the jokes that I had down. Now that I have jokes I need to make my jokes better and revise my script.

  1. For tonight, write out a few funny stories (narratives) and think “where is the humor in this and how can I use it in a comedy routine?” – you need to be writing more in order to advance this project.
