Holidays

It’s that time of year again. The HOLIDAYS and break are here and The new year is just around the corner. What holiday do you celebrate? Christmas, Hanukah,Kwanzaa. I celebrate Hanukah, we get one gift per day instead off all our gifts at the same time. But thats not the point of the holidays. To me the holiday means I get to spend time with my family. And go away to a nice and warm place usually. This year I am going to Mexico with my moms side of the family. I am really excited to be in the nice and warm heat since here it is so cold. I am super excited to swim in the pools and go to many new places I haven’t seen before, I also hope I can get my hair braided. well happy holidays and stay safe, have a great new year !!!!

Writing Expedition

Writing expedition

This year my writing has changed a lot. I have discovered that I love writing fiction and storytelling. So far I find that nonfiction is hardest for me. I have definitely become a better writer and I am slowly becoming more and more aware of my spelling and grammar. I have also learned new types of writing. One type of writing is article form. This I had never done in years previous so it was very new to me, but I did enjoy it. As I said before my least favorite or hardest style of writing was nonfiction. It just doesn’t really appeal to me as much as most others.

I still  like to write non-fiction just it sometimes bores me. I would much prefer most other styles. I think I have improved majorly from even just September to December.  And I can tell that over the course of the year I will be learning a whole lot more. From different styles of writing and making my vocabulary bigger.

science museum

A couple of days ago the 5th grade went to the Hall of Science Museum. The Hall of Science Museum ended up being really fun and cool. There were tons of hands on activities that were so fascinating. One of the many things we did was we took a class on simple machines . This was very interesting and taught me that there are many different  things that  can be simple machines that I didn’t even think were machines. We pulled water bottles of the ground with pulleys and we pulled up wooden block’s up a ramp. We also got to smell many things in the Mars exhibit. One thing that really surprised me was there were these things that you smelled and one was really bad and the other was good but the thing that was good me and my friends thought  smelled so bad. We also could control a robot and choose its path it went in. On another floor we got to race on many different things. There was one were you sat in a fake wheelchair and raced against somebody else. on a different floor there was a fun bubble were nobody said they were having a competition but you could see everyone wanted to have the biggest bubble. Overall the field trip was so enjoyable and inspiring and if we could stay there for hours more i’m pretty sure we would.
