I just finished reading the chapter Florence from the book seedfolks for homework. I cannot believe that that Florence’s great grandparents walked all the way from Louisiana to Colorado. That is more than 1165 miles. Their old owner should gave got them on some kind of wagon pulled by horses. I feel that Florence is lucky and unlucky at the same time. She is unlucky that
she had a black family. In around the time she was born, people did not like blacks. The good news is that in modern days she would be a special black because she was part of the first black family there. I also feel bad for her because she has arthritis in her hand. Throughout the chapter, it explained that she loved gardens.
