At Home Work Ideas for 3/20/20:

    • Reading Passage and Questions: I have shared a DOC. “How Can You Help” with you in your Reading Folder.
    • Colonial AmericaI have shared a DOC “Colonial America Diary Entries” with you in your Social Studies folder. Please read the document for further directions.
    • FlipGrid: I have shared a DOC “FlipGrid Code” and a SlideShow “FlipGrid Tutorial” Please follow the directions.  We are going to try our best to use the new platform.  If you already know how to use it, great.  If not, we will figure it out together. (I am learning about it now) SOME OF YOU GOT ON!! YAY! 🙂 If you have been successful in recording a video, record another one. 
    • Maker Friday:  Design Squad Nation To create specific projects with limited materials, click on the build tab with the scissor icon and choose Stuff Spinner. There you can choose the category you want to explore and the materials that you’d like to work with (choose what you have around the house). Then hit spin and wait to see the amazing project ideas that pop up. If you create anything, email me a picture! 
    • Math Problems: Here are 3 math problems.

Samantha walks a total of 2/3 of a mile to get to and from school each day. Write an expression that can be used to find the total number of miles that Samantha walks to and from school over 5 days.  Then evaluate the expression.  

 

Mr. Rodriguez baked 9 trays of carrot muffins.  There were 35 muffins on each tray. Mrs. Williams baked 150 whole grain muffins.  How many muffins did they bake?

  • Blog Post: Create a blog post.  Feel free to share any experiences about what has been going on with you since we last saw each other.
  • Independent Reading: You all know the importance of getting in a lot of reading time each day so if you are free this is a great thing to do!
  • Reflex: This is a great way for you to continue to work on your facts or just review. (Heathcote Gateway)
  • Typing Club: This is a great way to practice your typing skills. (Heathcote Gateway)

At Home Work Ideas for 3/19/20

Hi Everyone! I am changing the format of my posts.  At the top, will be all the “new” assignments”. At the bottom, will be all the continue working on assignments (reflex, typing club, independent reading, etc)

Please be sure to check out the assignments from all your specials.  (Heathcote Gateway, Resources, E-Learning).  More instructions sent via Google Docs, named Specials. ( I shared the DOC to your reading folder).

Please look in your Writing Folder for a DOC called Padlet.  More directions on the padlet.

Mr. Casal bought 10 cartons of drink mix.  There were 25 packets of mix in each carton.  He used 246 packets for a party. How many packets of drink mix did he have left? 

 

Joseph had 265 stamps.  David has twice as many stamps as Joseph. David had 179 more stamps than Jamal. How many stamps did Jamal have?

 

Challenge:

 

Dylan, Michael, and Jeremy had $171. Michael had twice as much money as Dylan.  Jeremy had 3 times as much money as Michael. How much money did Jeremy have?
