Now with computer tech done, we move to tech! In tech, we learn about different pieces and types of technology. For my first post, I thought I would talk about my project I just finished.
For our first building project, we were supposed to create an I-beam. Before we begun, though, our tech teacher, Mr. Calvert, taught us how I-beams are so strong. The flange on the top has the most compression, while they flange on the bottom has the most tension. The center of the web, called the neutral axis, has zero resistance to tension or compression. I assume that the web is the the thing that transfers the stress.
