Tynker

In my two tynkers I did the fence problem and the car problem in both of them I asked some questions to get the answer to the problems. In my code their are ask blocks with the two vocabulary words to ask the question and get the answers. I used the ask blocks, the answer blocks,  and the create your own block.

Quizlet Activity

In my project I asked what my favorite sport was and it is basketball. I did so if I got it correct I would dance and if I got it wrong I would cry.

I looked at Krishanna’s project and I liked it because there were a lot of questions and it wasn’t too hard.

Computer Science is Changing

I learned that people who are really good at a sport or something that software  can just ruin your career because you can get addicted and not do the sport or something that you do because you get addicted. Technology helps people in the future like it can help doctors find things out about people who are sick or something. The work that people who do computer science can change peoples lives either in a good or I think it can be a bad idea because then people just use internet.

Essay for Ranger in Time Escape from the Great Earthquake by Kate Messener

I read a book called Ranger in Time Escape from the Great Earthquake by Kate Messner. I think the theme is it’s special for people to find something or someone that reminds you of people and animals that are no longer with you. In the book, there is a dog named Ranger and he time travels to save people also, there is a girl named Lily.

On page 18 there is an earthquake a fish named Gum Gum who is gold dies and Lily owns and she is sitting in a room next to the dead fish crying. Then Ranger who is gold like Gum Gum comes to save Lily from the earthquake.

On page 32 Lily wants to help her friend May find her brother Lee that is lost in the fires and her parents went off to find a cart because her mother can’t walk through the mess of the earthquake.

On pages 40 and 41 they find May’s brother Lee under a bookshelf, while Lily and May are holding the bookshelf up Ranger saves Lee. But Lee is really sick and hurt.

On page 81 Lily finds a bird and whistles to try to make it sing but it cannot sing. The bird reminds her of Gum Gum with golden scales and the eyes burned. Right after she found the bird everything started to get better Lily finds Lee and May’s parents, Lee got better, and the bird learned to sing.

That is why I think it’s special for people to find something or someone that reminds you of people and animals that are no longer with you. I liked this book because it was very interesting.

Learnstorm

Learning to get better at reading comprehension would make my life better because I would understand more about what I’m reading. Learning Hebrew would make my life more interesting because then I would know what they are saying at services.

My fixed mindset name is Basketball Benny. Some situations when my fixed mindset shows up are when I’m reading. When I hear my fixed mindset voice I will tell myself just keep trying. When I hear my fixed mindset voice I will tell myself everyone struggles.

A mistake I made recently even though I tried my best was in a really hard math problem. After I made the mistake, I fixed it. My reaction of myself helped me to remember to try again so, I told myself to try again.

I get frustrated from when I have to do work for a long time. Frustration is important because then you can push yourself to keep trying. What will you say to yourself to remember getting frustrated is good for you? I will say it is okay. Frustration is good for you. When I get frustrated I will take a break and I will take deep breaths. I will ask the teacher for help when I get stuck on something.

I want to achieve my goal because I will feel proud. If I achieve my goal I will feel proud. I want to achieve my goal but, I know I will have to be strong when it gets hard. I want to achieve my goal but, I know nothing will get in the way. To conquer the obstacle I will have to try hard. The top three things I learned are do your best, your brain always gets stronger, and frustration is good for you.

My First Basketball Game!

Tweet! as our coach blows the whistle when the ball goes out of  bounds. It is a scrimmage at basketball practice as I score a lay up. I see that there are two seconds left on the scoreboard so that meant that practice would end soon. Buzzzz! as the time runs out. “Good job practice is over you guys can go to your parents,” my coach says to the team. I run down the stairs out the door and into the car.

“Hi how did you play?” my Mom asks me.

“Great,” I say.

“Great,” she says back to me. Slam! As I close the car door with joy, it was so loud that it sounded like a bomb exploded. When we get home I go straight to bed.

It is Friday and it is the next day of basketball practice I get nervous that I won’t play well. The coach starts to talk to the team and he says we have games tomorrow at 9:00 AM… I almost puke as I get so nervous because I have never played in a game before and I was so bad at basketball. I stand there shaking from nervousness it is like I am freezing in Antarctica. “Are you ok,” the coach asks me.

“Y-yes,” I say in a nervous voice.

“Ok let’s get started,” the coach says. During practice I play terrible because I can’t stop thinking about my game the next day.

It is the end of practice and I run as fast as can to my car. I hop in my car and scream, “I have a game tomorrow!”

“It is going to be ok,” my Mom says to me. We head home. When we get home I hop in the shower and go to bed

I wake up and look at the clock it is 8:00 AM I have an hour I think to myself. I change into my jersey shaking. I’m going to be ok, I think to myself. I walk downstairs slowly to waste time. When I get to the bottom of the stairs I hear my parents talking about when we were going to leave but I couldn’t hear what time we were leaving. “H-hi,” I say in a nervous voice.

“Hi you are going to do great in your game there is nothing to be worried about,” my Mom says.

“I’m so excited for you,” my Dad says.

“I’m really nervous,” I say to my parents.

“It is going to be ok, I promise,” my parents both say.

“What time are we leaving?” I ask.

“At 8:30 AM,” my Dad says.

I go to my living room and start to watch TV. We have ten minutes until we leave and I can’t stop thinking about the game. It is ten minutes later and my whole family gets into the car to come watch me play.

When we get there I sit in the car feeling nervous. Then I get out of the car and go into the gym. Our team warms up by doing layups. I almost miss all my layups from how nervous I was. The ref tells all the players to go to the bench with their coach. Tweet! the whistle blows as the game starts with me sitting on the bench. At the end of the half we are up by ten points and I still haven’t played. I get mad but I deserve not to play.

It is the start of the second half and I step on the court to play. I get nervous so I breath in and out. Then it starts it is my teams ball and they pass it to the point guard. I run down the court and my team scores. Finally I got the ball and shoot brick as my shot hits the backboard. I get mad at myself for shooting such a bad shot. There are five minutes left in the game as I get subbed out of the game. We are winning by twenty points so we will probably win. There are ten seconds left as my team holds the ball to let the time run out. Buzzzz! As the time runs out. My team and the other team shake hands and say good game to each other. “Good job guys” my coach says to the team.

I run to my parents and say, “I played terrible”

My Mom says, “You are just learning and you played fine, you will get better, trust me.”

“Yes I am,” I say to myself.

Student Rights

I think student rights are very important and some of the things I agree or disagree with. There are so many student rights rules. Teachers can check your bag when ever they think it is a good reason to, I don’t agree with that because you could have private things in your bag. You can’t curse at your teacher, I agree because it is really mean to do that. You cannot copy off something from the internet, I agree because you are using their work that they did. Public schools can’t stop students from saying opinions, I agree because it is their thoughts. You can get in big trouble even on field trips by your teacher, I agree because then you could do all bad things. The government can’t prevent you from doing a speech I agree. Those are some of the important student rights rules.

Summer In The Hamptons!

This Summer I went to the Hamptons! I go there every Summer because I have a house there. It is so amazing there, the weather is nice, and there are so much beaches. At my house in the Hamptons I have a pool and a hot tub that goes up to one hundred four degrees! Also I have a basketball hoop in my backyard that I always play on. One of my dogs goes in the pool with me. At the beach I ride the waves with a boogie board because the waves are really big. In the Hamptons I go to a camp called Future Stars and it is really fun. I have been going to that camp every Summer since I was little. The Hamptons was so fun this year and I can’t wait to go next year.
