Passion/Compassion Project – Week 3

This is my third week of my passion/compassion project. My passion is learning the basics of coding and making a basic video game.

Who will you reach out too?

My friend Jaiden. He knows a bit about coding and he said he was willing to teach me.

What resources will you use?

Im first going to watch some YouTube videos and get help from my friend Jaiden. If I feel like I haven’t learned enough, then I will go to the library and check out some books about coding.

How will you get it done?

I will use the tinker app. Using this app, it will help me by giving me an easy platform/workspace to start building. I will use the notes and knowledge that I gained from Jaiden, YouTube, and Books. I will start this building process before Wednesday, December 1st.

My topic for my passion/compassion project is learning how to code so I can make a video game.

1. What will you learn, make or do?

I am going to learn the basics of coding and make a basic video game.

2. Why do you want to learn, make, or do this?

I have always been interested in codes and never understood how people use codes and make video games. I then realized that I want to learn and also be able to make cool and fun video games while messing around with codes.

3. How will you learn, make, or do this?

I will watch videos of what certain symbols mean in codes and how to make codes and I will read about the basics of coding.

4. What will success look like to you?

Success will be when I understand the basics of coding and have made a basic video game.

For my Science Passion project I am doing coding a video game. I have made a video game on tinker before, but I haven’t coded anything. I don’t really understand coding, so I want to learn more about it. I think it will be cool if I can make cool games and understand how coding works and how to code a game. I can’t wait to start learning!
