Hello everybody! In class this week we have been learning about the structural integrity of the triangle, and how trusses are used in buildings all around the world. For our interactive projects, we used baby carrots and toothpicks to make structures to hold up objects. To make the structures we would place toothpicks into chopped up baby carrots to make joints to connect the sides. Our challenge was to use triangles to hold up as many weights as possible, so I designed a cube with toothpicks going diagonally on the sides to make triangles, and it held up a lot of medium sized books! Overall, I thought the project was a really cool way of showing how triangles made things strong, and I really enjoyed it!
Hello Everybody! Today I am talking about the program Tynker again. For our Computer Tech class, we are supposed to make music videos and animate something for them. My sound for the program doesn’t work on my iPad, but I chose the“fantasy theme,” for my project. I animated a dragon flying through space, looking for earth, and it wasn’t my best project, but I did what needed to be done. The animation was a bit choppy, but you could see the story I guess. I thought the project was a bit boring to be honest, but it was a good learning experience.
I hope you all are well.
After hours and hours of hard work on the script of my capstone, which includes my interview, my information, and my questions, I finally finished working on the hardest part of the capstone, the script. I poured over information for the past month, searching for answers to the questions I have asked at the beginning of this. Finally, I collected all the information I needed to start working on my script. I strived to write formally instead of the classic informal writing I use in this blog post. That was very very hard, and I didn’t enjoy that at all. But soon, the script was ready to go, and I could start working on my movie. Over the past two days, I worked my head off recording and animating my movie in WeVideo, a movie software that we used for other projects in the past. I scanned the internet for free pictures and terminology that I needed. It was hard work, but I finally finished the movie! Overall, I am proud of my work, having spent almost a month filling out the requirements for the project, and it will probably prepare me for middle school.
I also need to answer my main question, “How do the different participants in a courtroom trial interact to conduct a trial and reach a verdict?” That was a tough one, because there were two answers to it. One for criminal cases, and one for civil cases. For criminal cases, the system is harsh. The defense fights with the prosecution, the judge oversees, and the jury watches. For civil cases, the plaintiff fights with the defendant, but it could be the judge or the jury watching the trial. That is the answer to my main inquiry question. I would like to thank Mike Gluck, Mr Casal, and Mrs. Robert for helping me with this project.

Quarantine isn’t a free-for all eat candy and sit on the couch kind of thing if you are a kid. When you are a kid, you do E-learning. Here are five simple steps to solving the mystery of how to deal with this work.
- Review your work. This is the most important step and the one that can help you the most. If your work comes in weekly, review and plan out your work over the week on Monday. If your work comes daily, every morning check your assignments and plan your day out.
- Print things out. I find it WAY easier to print things out when I start working. Checklists, Math work, almost anything that you need. (Don’t print out things you need to hand in in google classroom or docs) This can help if you aren’t used to doing everything on the computer, or even if you are, it is a good way to get organized and be ready for the work coming your way.
- Organize your work. Things can get cluttered if you don’t know what to do next. Get yourself a To-Do list every day so you can easily complete your work without any extra stress. Also, checking off things on lists can help you add something that can make you feel important each day.
- Do your work. The simplest step, but the most annoying. But with the last three steps, completing your work is more like real school, where everything has a time and place to do things, and less like the crazy list of stuff you have to do by the end of the day.
- Review your work. This is very important, but we all want to skip it (even I do) Review the work you have done when you finish, whether that is at the end of the week, or end of the day. Make sure you have done everything you need to do.
I hope you are all well
So in school we have been creating our colonies with cardboard and clay, and we finished it. Whoo-hoo! We are all very happy and relived that we finished on time.In our imaginary world, my character(Ebony), has been writing a crazy amount in her diary. She has one entry about finishing putting up Rockwood(our colony). It goes something like this:
Rockwood outskirts, Whale house
Ebony Stark
From here atop the whale house I can see my finished colony. Yep, I said it, were done. It’s been hard work but everything is up and running. We’re finished, the little ones have a school to go to. everyone has a house, a church, three meals and a job. The only problem are the roads. They are made of dry grass and dust, and they keep blowing away. I suppose the people of rockwood will get to it, because they really have nothing to do tomorrow, except looking over the top of the whale house to admire Rockwood. I should be going to sort out the day, because it’s almost 7:00, in the morning. I tie my hair up and get to work.
Yeah, she’s pretty spunky.
