We have a controlled quad. That quad is the one where we did not change anything. This is one piece of data.  Twelve leaves had  two centimeters tall. Then it grew flowers. I think the flowers are butter cups.

We also have a manipulated quad. Which means we did change something. This is one piece of data. Eight leaves and five centimeter tall. At first our manipulated was growing faster than our controlled. Then it died. I think it died because the fertilizer pellets were not in the soil. I also think they helped our plant. There is one cell in the quad that did survive cell three did survive. Maybe we just got some bad seeds. What do you think?

I think the flower bloomed because of the photosynthesis. I learned that plants can have less soil then they need. I think this because of our experiment. And the answer to our question is that plants can have less soil. I love learning about plants.

 

 

Plant post 1

First we put the wick in the quad. A quad is made out of styrofoam. In each quad there are four cells which are parts of the quad. A wick is an paper root. Then we put soil in each cell. Then we put three fertilizer pellets in the soil. Finally we put two seeds in. That was the set up.

My group manipulated less soil. Manipulated means to change one variable. This is one day’s data for manipulated. Cell 1 had 5 leaves and was 5 cm. tall. We soon saw the change in our manipulated. The change was that the manipulated died except one cell, cell 3.

I also had a controlled plant. My controlled plant was not growing as well as my manipulated. Here is some data I collected. Cell 1 had 4 leaves and was 4 cm. tall. I  know why the manipulated grew higher. I love learning about plants.

We used strip magnets for the track.We used 4 to 6  strip magnets. We arranged them in a row because it would fit the whole track that  was our first idea.We used disc magnets for the train.We put 2 disc magnets on the bottom of the train. We arranged them on opposite sides of the track.

We realized that the train was attracting to the track. So we made it line up with the track.We adjusted it so that it lined up with the track.We also needed to make the magnets repel so we turned the magnets over.That was one of my groups problems.

We used strip magnets for the track.We used six magnets with three on each side. It worked because we lined the magnets up and made strong magnetic fields.We used strip magnets.We arranged them on opposite sides.It worked because we made it levitate.

In the beginning, I was frustrated w  were also excited in the beginning because we thought our design was going to work.Sometimes we were out of ideas.I thought it was a good group project but also a really hard project.

Technology is…some thing new and useful

Technology  does not have to be just electronics. Technology solves a problem and is something new and useful.

A stapler is technology because it puts pieces of paper together.Other wise you need to wait for the glue to dry. The problem that it solves is that you can instantly  put some thing together.It makes life easier because it helps people put things together.A stapler is made of plastic and rubber.My object is heavy,hard,smooth and rigid.

 

This is one example of technology.

What we did today was we stacked magnets on top of each on the track to make it levitate higher.We used strip magnets.I think it levitated because there was a stronger magnetic field. Also we worked on lining up the magnets so with a little push it would go across the track.

What we did today that failed was we were trying to make it go across with a push. So we thought puting stacks of disc magnets on either side would help because it would attract and go to the other side.What we learned from our failure was that attracting magnets will not pull the train across the track.So now we know that that does not work.I think the magnets were not strong enough.The train kept falling so we needed to put more magnets we wanted it to levitate.It kept tilting. We adjusted the track to make it lined up with the train.

Our goal is to make sure it does not tilt.Also to make it go across the track with a little push.It will be hard to do it but I think we will succeed.

A maglev train is a train that runs on magnets. It levitates or floats above the track. It can go really fast. The magnets have to repel; they can’t attract.  Our idea was to put strip magnets on the track. On the train we put disc magnets on the bottom.

What worked was that we got the train to levitate by making the magnets repel.  What failed was that we put the disc magnets on the train and it did not make the train levitate. I think it did not levitate, because we did not put like poles together.

The challenging part was that we had to make the train levitate. What worked out well was that eventually, we got the train to levitate. I think that it is easier to work in a group than by your self, because you have others peoples ideas. I liked working in a group, because it’s more fun. The challenging part was that was that we had all different ideas and we all needed to share them.

It has good writing and learning about text features. At the end of the book you will be an expert on Miami Beach. This took a long time. I worked very hard. Reflection on Persuasive Writing Exsperience

I learned you have to talk to your audience. Also, it takes a long time to make one book. It is hard to make. I learned that you should use juicy words. The expression on your face also matters.

I felt proud about my speech. I worked really hard. I put my effort into this. I tried to make readers like my piece. I put in everything I knew.

The possum story
