Final Project – Spreadsheets

I was really excited when I got to work with spreadsheets again. I decided to do the pet info activity.  In this sheet there were multiple pets. This sheet was about population of pets. It was also about what pet was most popular. An example of a formula I wrote is =C6/B6. It is very cool how all you have to do is tap a cell and it will tell you it’s location. My row shows the average number of that pet in each house hold. I really enjoyed working with spreadsheets.

Spreadsheets 2

I created my spreadsheet this week by making a copy of the wellness log. I am learning so much about spread sheets. The way I write my formulas is I always start with an equals sign, then I click a cell and I put a operation sign in. I do the same thing with the other cells then it shows you all different data. You should use this data and apply it to your sheet. Another way you can use this is for a different type of log or other data. Spreadsheets are most commonly use to organize data usually numbers.

Swift 3

I thought the awnsers playground was challenging because there were so many codes you could make. The typing was also tricky. I think these are the main reasons why it was challenging for me. Also it was kind of cool how the finished project was interactive, meaning you got to fill in the awnsers.

Swift Playgrounds 1

Today I went to the playgrounds app and completed a few puzzles. Something I found throughout my experience in this app is that the order of the code really matters. The thing I found challenging about this was that it was a little tricky to type my own code. Overall this was one of my favorite projects.

Capstone Part 3: Final Project

I am finished with my capstone project! I really enjoyed it because I got to learn a lot about Orca whales. Also I had to re record my script many times to get it to sound good. I decided to do a video for this project because I really enjoy working with the Adobe spark platform. Even though I was frustrated when I had to keep recording it was really worth the struggle. I’m super happy about how it came out.  I also think my movie making skills improved a lot during this project and I definitely got better at using Adobe spark. At first my video was only about 2 minutes but I got it to be about 4 minutes. In addition  I had a little trouble downloading but I finally got it to work. I am looking forward to sharing my final video because I feel really good about it. I think my final project was a success. Here is the link to my capstone:

Capstone Part 2: Interview

I interviewed Pablo Cermeno. I think it went really well. I think this becauseI got a lot of new information I did not have before. At the beginning I was a bit nervous. I wondered if he would just repeat the same information I had already had. We did this on video call. It was a little glitchy. He deeply explained the answer to all of my questions. I think interviewing is a great way of getting some research. He also used specific vocabulary and explained what the words meant. Before capstone I did not know much about orca whales. I learned so many things not just about orcas but  about what I could do better if I needed to interview someone else for a different project. He knew a lot of information about orcas. I don’t feel like I have to worry about not having  enough information now!

Curling trip

Our class went on a curling field trip. I felt a little nervous. I think I felt this way because I was afraid of falling on the ice. When I got their we went into our groups. I got a group with most of my friends. The borders of the ice were blocks of carpet. I was so nervous I felt like the ice was going to eat me . When I stepped on the ice I was super surprised. It was not slippery. I looked at the ice I saw little mountains in the ice. No wonder It was so slippery. We walked around on the ice I was still petrified.

Once we started curling I realized it took more energy to push the stone than I thought. I fell after I pushed it. My arm hurt. I got back up on the carpet border. We learned to sweep. Our instructor said to hold the broom with two hand. I squeezed the broom tight, not trusting the little mountains of ice. We swept the stones that went really fast and ones that went a bit slower. Then we started playing. My group was paired up with another group. We played against each other. Nobody scored. My stone made it to the house. I had scored a goal. I was really happy. This trip was so much fun.

Colony Poster Reflection

What I learned from the colony poster is that the colonies helped shape history for the U.S. What I learned from the actual colony was that the southern colonies had more slaves than any other colony. I also learned that they were still ruled by the british and the colonist did not like that.
