Hey guys this is a summary about Colonial America – hope you enjoy! 

The main idea in the Article, Colonial America,  is that Native Americans, settlers, and African slaves all had different lives in Colonial Times.

 The Natives changes were mostly bad. The Natives had great respect for their land and thought that when you had land it wouldn’t be yours forever, but the settlers thought that once you had land, it was yours.  One good thing for some Natives was that they signed Peace Treaties and could get irons and valuable stuff from England in exchange for food, which they had plenty of!However, eventually the Natives had to move west because there were to many settlers, and they had to find land without and settlers.

 Settlers who went to the New World mostly had come from England or their Parents would be English.The settlers came hoping to find gold and become rich, but instead nearly got wiped out because of the harsh environment. A few settlers came so they could have religious freedom, and the Pilgrims were one of them. Soon there were so many settlers that there was not enough room for the Natives. 

 The next largest group after the English settlers were Africans. Portuguese people captured and sold Africans to be slaves. They often performed jobs being carpenters, blacksmiths, bakers, or weavers. They also performed normal household duties. Another job one might give his slave was that they had to work in a tobacco farm, because that was taught in Africa or where the slave was originated.

All these people had  to somehow find a way to survive while the others were there, and everybody had a struggle to survive whilst the other was there. All those people that lived in Colonial Times had different dreams, ideas, and opinions, and are not that different from us today. Though, I still wouldn’t wanna live in Colonial Times! 😉
