Week 7 Tech

Today is the quarter’s only catch-up day, and I decided to work on my blog posts. I like art and drawing, so my post will be about how art relates to technology. Art has been around for thousands of years, and it has progressed a lot during that time. At the beginning, people used cave walls and their hands to paint. But now, in modern times, people have brushes and canvas to do that. Technology has helped people paint more efficiently.

Week 6 Tech

Yesterday in class it was a Nearpod day, and we learned about atoms and its parts. We also learned about the periodic table, and the elements. I learned that protons have a fixed number in each element, and changing the number of protons can change the element. I learned about the parts of a atom, like electrons, neutrons, and protons.

Week 5 Tech

I just finished my light switch, and it turned out pretty well. I colored it gold and silver. It works really well, but I couldn’t attach it to my wall. I think I could’ve used more wax. My switch looks really nice, and runs pretty well. Because I finished early, I helped other people with theirs. It was really fun making it.

Week 4 Tech

Today I just finished my crank, and it works really well. I also am starting an extra credit crank and its really fun. I finished cutting and folding, so today I’m going to start gluing. We also just watched the automaton movie, and I thought it was interesting that even so one ago people made automatons.

Week 3 Tech

Today in class it was a Nearpod day (Monday), and we learned about cranks and how cars work. I thought it was really interesting learning about how people made cars sixty or seventy years ago. The process has changed a lot, and now its much safer. Back then, People had high changes of getting hurt, because molten metal could burn through your skin. Technology helped advance and speed up the process of making cars and made it safer for people.

Week 2 Tech

So far in Tech, I have learned about gears, cams, and a wheel and axle. We have started cutting the pieces for an automata, and I’m on my second automata. I also learned how to use a slice cutter. The things we learned about cams are really interesting, and I’m excited to make a wood cam later in the year.

Week One Tech

I am really excited to learn about tech and do the projects, because I love making things and engineering sounds really fun. Also, technology relates to a lot of things I like to do. For example, I like playing tennis, and humans created this game for recreation. Also, technology has helped make tennis easier for people to play, like adjustments to the racquet and ball.

Google Spreadsheets

For my spreadsheet, column A had all the states and their population was in column B.

I learned how to make a chart using spreadsheets, and its very helpful. Also, I learned how to add formulas.

These spreadsheets are very good for organization, and I would definitely use it again.

Music Video Comments

I liked Ella F’s video because the background really stood out to me, I liked that she had a “stage” literally as her background. What I liked about the animation was that she actually got the woman to play the drums, which was suited for a music video. The soundtrack too was also nice, and i thought it fit right in with her scene and background.

About Me Tynker Project

In Tynker, the hardest thing for me was probably to find where everything was and adjust to it. Once I got the hang of that, programming was fun and easy. My fav riots part of programming is probably seeing the final results, kind or like seeing a movie you starred in.

In my about me project, my actors were things that I liked or did, like a violin, tennis racquet, and book. My background was a beach, because I also love the beach.
