The Danger in Feeding Dolphins

I read the article “What’s the danger in feeding wild dolphins?  Propellers, biting, fish hooks.”  This article is about wild dolphins getting hurt or becoming sick because humans are feeding them food they should not eat. In addition, fishermen often stab wild dolphins with their fish hooks in the dolphins’ blow holes, preventing the dolphins from being able to breathe. Although many people are trying to stop this issue, some people won’t stop hurting them.  I chose this article because I love dolphins and I care about them very much.

Reading the article made me think more about how people can save wild dolphins from being hurt by humans.  It is clear to me that dolphins need more care and help to survive, but currently cannot get it.  I wonder why people keep feeding dolphins food that is harmful to them even after they are asked to stop.  This makes me sad, and I really hope that dolphins don’t become extinct because of human behavior.  I am very worried, but I am also happy that at least some people are trying to help them.  I can’t wait to learn more about how I can help solve this problem. What are your thoughts about how we can save the dolphins?

  1. Maybe people can restrict some areas in the ocean where the dolphins are popular so fisherman won’t harm them. This can also help the water that the sea creatures around the dolphins to survive.

  2. Nice response! One way we can save dolphins is by making signs. I like dolphins too, they are cool when they jump out of the water. I hope the dolphins survive.
