It is our last day of tech and I am so sad it is over. From the first time we did a nearpod to our last building project and using electricity. I loved tech this year,  it was my favorite quarterly of the year. I remember the first time I used the slice cutter and now I am using a jigsaw. I loved tech and so sad it is over but happy that it happened.

In class we are building cardboard switches to turn on a circuit board. To cut out the cardboard and be precise we have to use Jigsaws. Jigsaws are blades that bob up and down at rapid speed and could slice your finger of in an instant. They are very scary to use but once you get used to using them it is not that scary anymore. Anyway I am almost done with my switches and can’t wait for school to be over.

In class we are doing projects with electricity. We were learning how to make circuits with breadboards which are technically circuit boards. Right now we are making cardboard switches with tinfoil to connect a circuit to light up a L.E.D. Light. I just finished my first switch which kind of looks like a lever. Anyway tech is very fun right now and I can’t wait to play the game we are going to play when we make more switches.

In class this week we are doing so many Nearpods and I can’t stand it! Anyway we are learning about atoms and it is pretty cool. I learned that if you add or subtract one electron from an atom, the element will change. It is very cool. Atoms are very cool to learn about. Also later we are building electric mini cars  which sounds really fun. Anyway I can’t wait for this week to end and next week to come.

In class we are studying electricity and metals and atoms. I must say it is a very interesting unit. We just finished watching a movie all about metals and how they revolutionized the world. It is very cool. There is this new metal called graphine that is strong and light and can revolutionize how we build structures. Anyway I can’t wait for our next project probably involving electricity.

The other week I built a mechanical light switch out of gears and wood. It was very fun and it actually works! We used 3 gears, a driver gear which was connected to the handle, the pinion gear which was in the middle, and the rack which flipped the switch on and off. It was very fun to build and I also designed it in blue and gold! It was very fun and I can’t wait until the next project.

In class we are learning about gears and are going to start building our mechanical light switches next week. I am currently building my crank and it is going really well. We also watched this movie about machines and me and my friends were making fun of the narrator and the movie. It was interesting though. Anyway tech is really fun and I can’t wait for next week.

In technology class I finished building my cam project out of paper. It was a really fun experience to build and see how the cam worked. Except my cam didn’t work. But that’s okay, my teacher said it is a first pancake, its not that good or not that bad. Anyway I had a lot of fun building this and can’t wait to build my crank project.

In class we are making a mechanism called a cam out of paper. My cam is a little box with a mechanism in it that makes two little tubes go up. Also it has a crank that makes it go up. The cam looks like an avocado that pushes up on a paper on a thing that is rotating. Building these are really fun and I like tech a lot so far!

In tech we learned all about some simple machines such as the wheel and axle, lever, automatas, and more! Tech is really fun because we get to build stuff and work with tools. We also learned that anything such as a garbage can or a table is a piece of technology because technology is supposed to make your life easier like those objects I listed. Without some objects we would still be living in caves without tools and all. Anyway tech is really fun and I can’t wait until we finish our new project.
