Plant Experiment Post #2
My Control plant has been growing over the past 2 weeks. It is now 10 cm tall! It is light green and growing up and bending to the right!!! There are three stems in each quad, that means twelve stems in total. Recently, the control plant grew some buds! The buds are blooming the seeds for the next plant. The plant has been growing about 1.5 cm per day. All of this started as a seed!

My Experimental plant has been growing slowly over the past two weeks. Its measurement is currently about 6 mm. The plant is kind of red and kind of green at the same time. There are four stems in total. two in cell 1 and two in cell 3. There are no buds. One of the stems is bending and the other three stems are growing up. The experimental plant is growing really slowly. Three has not been a lot of change over the last two weeks. All that has happened is germination and sprouting.

I think the difference between the two plants is because the gatorade has sugar so the plants had to separate the water and the sugar to absorb the water. Also, the experimental plant isn’t growing as well because of the sugar there is less water in the gatorade, so the plant is not getting as much water as it needs. I also think that the experimental plant is kind of red because it is absorbing red colored water.
Plant Experiment #1
My class is doing a plant unit in science. We have a control group and an experimental group. Our question was “Can a plant survive on Gatorade instead of water?”. My hypothesis was that a plant fed Gatorade wouldn’t grow as tall as a plant that was fed water. For the control group we fed the plant water, gave it some light and fertilizer pellets. My control group is growing perfectly. For the experimental group we fed the plant Gatorade, gave it some light and fertilizer pellets.
After the first week, both of the plants grew. My control group was already 6 cm!! My experimental group was only 5 mm. The control group is bright green! The experimental is reddish/green. My conclusion is that when the plant gets the Gatorade it takes the sugar and tries to separate the water from the sugar, then it absorbs the water. I think there is less water in Gatorade than regular water, so the plant in †he experimental group doesn’t get as much water and it can’t grow as much.
Book of the Month – Ted Talk Reflection
The book “ One Plastic Bag is manly about Plastic bags are running gambia My favorite part was when They made The bag into purses Because They started to limit The Plastic bags This book reminded me of when I made a water bottle on The Plastic bag into a parachuting figure The message of The book is Plastic can do harmful things to The environment I think that we should do something because if we don’t Then we will have chunks of garbage in The ocean
The Ted talk banning Plastic bags in bali is manly about two girls talking about how Plastic bags are running bali my favorite part was when They told us about green school this video reminds me of when I helped kindergartners throw stuff in The recycling and compost not The garbage. The message is Plastic is bad we do not need it I think america should do The same because we have a lot of Plastic and we should do something.
These two stories made me think about my hometown and how much Plastic we have I think we need to do something about it and if so my home will be beautiful!
Information Book-Chess
I worked hard on my information book. It wasn’t easy. Mine was about Chess. We had been working on them for almost a month. We had to make pictures, write captions, make backgrounds and glossaries. Some of it was actually fun. I loved making my information book. It was worth it. Hope you enjoy my book.
