Math: Polygons
Today you are going to be learning all about what polygons are and the different names we have given polygons. You will need to watch this entire tutorial through to the end in order to understand the seesaw activity that has been assigned to you. Make sure you pause the video when directed so that you can think through some of the work independently and then click unpause when you are reading to check your reasoning.
Brooklyn inspires creativity and that has been expressed over the years in art, music, poems, movies and more. Think carefully, make a plan and include details in your creation. A few ideas for you to build upon:
A chalk drawing in your driveway (perhaps graffiti style?)
Design a new subway car – sketch it or build it with found materials
Design and build a new sculpture for Prospect Park
Write a poem about Brooklyn – one specific learning or an overview
Paint a landscape
Write a song that tells the world what you learned about Brooklyn
Watch the tutorials and print out the worksheets. Take a picture and upload your work to your June E~Learning Slideshow. We have two more letters after this and we are FINISHED with cursive handwriting!
Good morning 3L! Watch this introductory video to make sure you know what is expected of you today. Any questions you may have, feel free to email me or bring them to our zoom session at 10:00 – 10:45.
Today our zoom schedule is as follows:
Whole Class at 10:00 – 10:45 a.m.
Spanish with Sr. Johnson at 1:40 – 1:55
Library Broadcast with Ms. Sorenson at 2:30
READING – Fantasy Book Clubs
Remember to have 1 cover uploaded to your padlet and write across all of the columns, not just one column. Also, it is important not to report but to think deeply about your book. If one person reports something (for example character names) , then you should add to the post your thoughts and text evidence to support your thinking about those characters.
Everyone in the group should not repeat the setting/problem/solution:
Think about why the author chose the setting/problem/solution?
How did these elements affect your characters?
Why are these elements important?
Add on to your partners posts and either agree or disagree, but provide more text evidence in your thinking. Your posts should reflect 15-20 minutes of thinking to receive excellent participation credit.
Writing: Revising & Editing
Writer’s you are all so close to publishing! Today you will take the time to review what you have written (and typed in a doc in your writing folder). Revision is about making changes to your story to make it better and Editing is about spelling and the mechanics of writing. It is helpful to have a partner or two to work with at this point to ask for their feedback and get their help with spelling & punctuation.
In this lesson you will learn about angles and how to name specific types of angles. You will be asked to frequently pause the video and practice the skill. Then you will click unpause to see if your answer or solution matches my own.
Many of you have the workbooks at home. You can do the workbook pages directly in your workbook, take a picture and upload to your June E~Learning slideshow OR you can continue with the practices we have already been doing (print option OR copy and paste to slideshow).
Today we are continuing the tour of the 5 Boroughs of NYC and we are off to visit Brooklyn. There are many resources here to help make this an enjoyable trip.

Writer’s, you have reached the end! Literally, it is now time to start writing the end of your fantasy story. Watch the introductory video to learn about different ways you might end your story. And much like the introduction, it is best to try out a few different endings before choosing the one that fits your story best. If you haven’t started typing your story yet, please make that a priority today. You can ask for help with the typing if that makes it easier for you.
Today is an exciting day… you get the results of your surveys! Watch the lesson carefully to see how to get your data, how to fill out a data table, and how to fill out each graph.
Watch today’s video to learn a lot more about Queens and some amazing landmarks it has to offer. As we’ve learned in yesterday’s presentation, Queens is a very large borough. There is so much to see and do and its history is just remarkable!
