In class were reading a book called Refugee and we’ve been talking about who was the power and how it has shifted. The main characters are Mahmoud, Josef and Isabel all of them have had the power.
In Mahmoud’s story, there was a war and Mahmoud’s family had to escape so the war had the power. Then they went to Turkey but they were getting shot by soldiers so the soldiers had the power. After they were on a boat going to Europe and they hit a storm and Mahmoud’s family almost drowned. Then Mahmoud’s family finally got the power when they crossed through Turkey. Then right after they had the power they lost it because Mahmoud’s family got kid napped.
In Josef’s story, His house was attacked by the nazi’s and Hitler had the power. Then his family thought they had the power because they were leaving to go to Cuba but Cuba denied them and they sent them back to Germany. Then the caption had the power because he took them to France and Josef was having a good life. Then Germany came to France and started a war and Germany had the power.
In Isabel’s story, Fidel Castro had the power but then he lost it and let everyone from Cuba leave Cuba. Then Isabel and her family was on a boat and there were sharks all around there boat, then the sharks had the power because they killed Isabel’s friend Ivan. Then after that Lito killed the sharks so they had the power again. Then Isabel’s Mom was having a baby but there trying to get to Florida fast so they can have the baby there.
