Hello all

The other day, I worked with wood my first time. It was a really great experience and I cant wait to work with it again. To start the class I grabbed a large piece of wood and started to try to insert a small screw into the wood. From the start I noticed that the tip of the screw was not very sharp. Then I started to hit the screw like a nail. This worked for a little bit until I was told by Ms. Giroux not to hit it. When picked up a large screw, I knew that it would be easier to insert into the wood because it was much sharper than the smaller screw. When my screw wen t through the wood and hit the table I instantly knew that it was time for the vise to come into action. I inserted about two more big screws until my hands were numb. A few minutes later when I looked across they room, I saw my classmate Luke trying to split a piece of wood with screws. I asked if I could help,  and after he said yes, me, along with two other kids tried helplessly to split the wood in half. When the class period ended and we had not split the wood yet, we were devastated but happy with our effort. We hope to work on it another time. In the end, this experience has taught me to never give up on the thinks that you really want.
