This week I began to cut out all of the pieces that I needed for my box. It was very fun and I am happy to share it with you guys. When I got my first plank of wood to use, I felt overwhelmed but excited for what was to come. Using a ruler, I was able to make out the dimensions of my length and with. To make straight long lines I used a T-square. They would be used for my top and my bottom. After an approval from Ms. Giroux, I was able to cut my pieces using a hand saw. To start I had to put the wood in the vice, then I carefully moved my saw back and forth until the whole piece was cut in two. I was very nervous that I would get in trouble because my pieces were crooked, but I was relived to hear that they can be sanded. A few days later, I cut out the front and the back, and right and the left side using the same process. Now, I can put my pieces together to make a box. Next step, sanding and then glueing. I am very excited for weeks to come.Bye 🙂
