In the beginning of tech if I am being honest I had almost no Idea about what atoms were or anything like that and now can say I somewhat understand what atoms are. My favorite part during tech was the breakout room when we were trying to solve the locks. Another part I liked was making the switches because I could be creative with it. The last part I liked was probably the flashlight and how it came out after making it. I really enjoyed those parts of technology . When learning about the universe and stuff I was confused but most of tech I understood.

I have started my flashlight and drawing the outline of it I was a little confused about how making the flashlight works but I think its better now. Cutting the wires was a long process as at first because I was measuring my wires based on what I drew on a piece of paper then I realized after Mr.Calvert told Shane that your not supposed to measure using your paper outline. After some time I got my wires cut and next week I am going to do the drill press.

I have finished soldering my outline for a necklace and it was turned out very well in my opinion. Soldering is a little bit hard but I think I am okay at it now. I  put to much flux at first but then had to take take some off because the flux was falling of the wire after that the sobering process went very well. In the beginning when having to twist the wire and make it into an outline was tough for me. This week went pretty well though.

This week I was trying to make a switch that actually worked. One thing I really wanted to do with my switch is make it more creative. Making the switch was not very hard but at first because I made the two pieces of tinfoil connected to each other it didn’t work. So I had to take it apart and separate it. My first switch was a juice box with straw whenever the straw touch the juice box the tinfoil touched. So far I think my first one is going pretty well so far.

Since we were starting to make the frame I was trying to think of a design the entire time so I was changing my idea while we were doing it. It was pretty hard for me to twist and turn the wire so everything would fit up with the frame. Making the design with tape was actually also somewhat difficult because I couldn’t measure everything exactly. When putting wire into the frame eventually everything was on right.

This week I was drawing things on a scale sheet. It took me a lot of time to come up with something but I eventually did earrings. It was somewhat hard for me to draw things to scale but me earrings ended out fine. I honestly didn’t understand this that much at first but now I think I get it. For me making small specific designs is hard and when I say this I mean designs like tiny little circles.  Overall this week went good.

This week we learned a lot about atoms and the periodic table. I didn’t know there were so many different things on the periodic table with so many different sections. I didn’t really know what an electron was. Another thing that interested me was how Mr.Calvert explained what the universe was and how everything we interact with is made of atoms. It is also interesting to think about how big the universe is.

In the first week I learned about safety and being safe around the classroom. Mr.Calvert showed us a video and scenarios when we are not doing a certain thing we can get hurt pretty badly. In the first week we also did a break out room to find safety goggles. We used clues and kept searching around the room to open the locks. I never did an in person breakout room puzzle so I was pretty new to this but my group knew what to do.

I really liked explaining how I love ice cream.
