On Human Rights Day a jewelry designer came in and told us about something called an ivory nut that she uses to make jewelry. Basically it is a replacement for elephant tusk. What that means is that instead of using elephant tusk to make jewelry, which is illegal and kills the elephants, we use this nut to make the jewelry. The who point of learning about this was to show us how to take something ordinary and turn it into something unique. So what we did was we brought something from home that we weren’t using anymore and turned it into jewelry.
