Octopuses

A coconut octopus looks like a conch shell, but it is a coconut octopus. A coconut octopus is camouflage. So when it comes onto the sand it turns grey. Their body is the size of our thumb. Their arms are 3 times as much as their body. When they see someone in the water they squirt ink then leave.

90 million years ago an octopus lived. It was one of the oldest octopuse we know. Someone at the Natural History Museum who’s name is Jakob Vinther pointed to the a slab of gray stone. He said “That thing is the ink sac,” in England. He is in an expert in in fossils. The octopus was 25 centimeters and 10 inches long.

Octopuses have 3 hearts and blue blood. They have eight arms with suckers. Hundreds of them. Octopus can unscrew things and open objects. They have no bones, so they can go threw very small cracks. An octopus has a brain. Their arms are attached to their head. 2/3 of an octopus is its arms.

The reason why octopuses are flexible is they need to be to survive. They are flexible because they have no bones. They have to move throw coral reefs. Octopus aren’t only camouflage, but their texture changes. Those 2 things are not enough for predators not to see them they have to find the right hiding place.
