Atoms

Hey sisters! Hey, hello there, how are you? It’s Elizabeth Waxman. Today we learned about atoms for the first time in Technology class. Democratis came up with the word atom. There are three things that make up an atom. There are electrons, protons, and neutrons in all atoms. The protons and neutrons are both nucleus. Electrons are negatively charged, and protons are positively charged and neutrons are not charged at all. There are 118 known atoms on the periodic table. Some atoms are hydrogen, sodium, and silver. It is possible that knew atoms will be found. New atoms were discovered in 2018 and they were added to the periodic table. Those not on the periodic table are not classified as atoms. When atoms are close together they form a solid. When atoms are further apart from each they form a liquid. If the atoms are even further apart they form a gas. An atom is extremely tiny. An atom is approximately the size of a blueberry if a grapefruit is the size of the earth. If your nucleus is the size of a marble, then the electrons are fruitflies and the atom or the blueberry is the size of a professional football field. Nutreuns create a buffer that keep protons not touching each other. This makes protons not touch and protons don’t want to be next to each other because they are both positively charged. Like terms with the charge for example two negatively charged things won’t touch each while oppositely charged things will touch each other.

Thank you for reading my blog, I will be sure to write soon! Bye sisters!
