World #2 – Tests confirm source of coronavirus outbreak in China

The recent outbreak of the corona virus in China has harmed over 2700 people and killed approximately 81 people. Not only have peoples lives been threatened, but schools have closed, private cars were banned, and the Lunar New Year was extended. Instead of cars around 6,000 taxis are used in neighborhoods for transportation.

China’s Center for Disease Control and Prevention did tests in which showed that the virus spread from animals to humans at the Huanan Seafood Wholesale Market.  This market, known as a “wet market” sells alive animals such as rats, crocodiles, snakes and peacocks. I think that it is very likely that this terrible virus is caused by animals because 31 of the 33 people show that it is from animals. Also the “wet market” doesn’t seem very sanitary, and the people of China are constantly eating these animals which most likely are dirty.
