LFOD – Dennis Oehler, The Paralympic Superstar

Dennis Oehler recently visited our school and talked about how he got to be physically disabled. He got his leg amputated due to an accident that happened while driving. The blood circulation to his leg cut off so they had to amputate it. He thought that he wouldn’t be able to run again but he was shocked to see that he recovered and was able to use a prosthetic leg to run. He even set a world record in the Paralympic 100 meter race in 1998. And he will now be known as the Paralympic superstar!

Colonial America Book Reflection

This year we made books on colonial America. First we chose topics from these 4 categories: Trades, Slavery, Government, and Daily Life. I chose potters from the trades category. Next we gathered information on the topic. We had to use resources like the internet or books. We took our notes in our notebooks and after we had gathered enough we would put them on index cards. After that we would make a first draft of our chapters. Then we would type them out into a google doc and then copy and paste them into a google slides. This is my book. Hope you enjoy!

My Expert Book Reflection.

My whole class wrote expert books. I wrote about guitar. we started out by picking a topic. Picking a topic for me was semi-hard. My first topic was skateboarding, but I changed it to guitar. We started doing boxes and bullets. Then we organized our chapters. Then came the writing, I had to change many things before I perfected it. After that we typed it on to the computer. Next we added pictures, captions and all that stuff that makes it look good.
