Finding Someone to Interview – Capstone #3a

For my Capstone, my topic is iPhones. Apple is a very secretive company so it is pretty hard to find an interview. The person who I’m planning to interview who works at Apple even has to ask her supervisor if I can interview her and I’m still waiting to find out. So far she has been very good about trying to get back to me. My back up plan if she doesn’t work out is somebody who works at CBS News. This person would be good to interview because she could how CBSN streams live to all the iPhones and she could tell me how that works. I also think she could be good is because I could compare and contrast how many people have switched from looking at the newspaper to looking at their iPhones for news. For finding someone, I thought about the people we knew in this business and tried contacting them and that has worked. For me, the biggest challenge of finding someone to interview is when they could get back to me so I could have the information of when the interview would be. Tomorrow, May 9, 2017, I’m doing my site visit at the CBS Broadcast Center and I also might be interviewing someone. But overall, finding someone to interview was easy because since we knew people we got the interview, but difficult because it was hard finding the right person to interview.

  1. Given how progressive and forward thinking Apple is as a company I was, at first, surprised to hear you describe the company as secretive. Interesting point of view! What did you mean, exactly, by saying finding someone to interview was “easy but diffictult.”
