The Baseball Hall of Fame

I was walking step by step to the baseball Hall of Fame in cooperstown without a cloud in the sky. I was full with anticipation wanting to see everything I was hoping to see at the Hall of Fame. Then I got there I got my tickets and got ready to see the baseball Hall of Fame. I went up to the 2nd floor and looked around I saw a booth and saw an old glove from a long time ago, it looked different from the gloves we have now.

I also saw a screen where you can pick exciting moments in MLB history and I chose one. I also saw this box that had the World Series trophy and on the outside of the box it had a label that said yankees 27 World Series wins.

Then I went to a section all about Babe Ruth. It had his jersey and some videos of him playing. It was so cool to see Babe Ruth’s jersey it was so cool.

Next to it it shows a picture of Hank Aaron and had an article next to it about when he broke the homerun record I read it. Then I went to another room that had old baseball equipment and things they used to broadcast the games and it let you push some buttons. I saw this old catchers helmet and it looked super uncomfortable and looked like it would not protect you well. But it was not as interesting as I thought I would be. In That same room I saw old baseballs and they looked really beat up.

On the same floor I went to another section and every team has a locker, and they put two jerseys in each locker and even

more memorabilia in the locker. I went to go check out the mets locker because I am a mets fan. I saw David Wright’s jersey and I was so happy to see it because he is retired. Then I left the room because that was really the only thing I wanted to see. Then I went to a different room, and saw this huge TV with buttons couple of buttons on a stand a couple of yards away from the TV. It had some things to choose from on it. I chose when they first made a certain stadium. It was like a little documentary on the stadium, I really liked it, it was cool. Then I started to look around more and I saw these boxes and they had pictures of stadiums on them, and you had to try to guess the stadium that was on the box. So I started to guess the stadiums, and I got 5 right things right and 1 thing wrong.

Then I found something that I never thought I would see at the Baseball Hall of Fame, it was baseball cards from when they first came out and cards from now, I also saw some of the most expensive cards in the world, I was shocked by what I was seeing. Next to that was a picture machine where you take a picture and you can make your own baseball card out of the picture.

Then there was a sign and it said baseball art (do not touch). So I went into the room and saw paintings. There was a picture of Babe Ruth and he was looking at you, and it reminded me of the Mona Lissa.

I said’’ This looks so cool’’ to my dad and uncle.

I also saw a tiny statue of a manager who coach for a really long time. Then I left the cool artistic room and saw another board that asks you questions about the MLB and they were pretty hard questions,so I answered them as best as I can. Then I started to get really bored border than I have ever been at the Hall of Fame.

Then it all changed when my dad said,’’ let’s go look for the placks. Every player to be a Hall of Famer has a plack, it says the year they were educated to the Hall of Fame and their name or nickname. So I started looking for Mets players that are Hall of Famers like Mike Piazza. I looked and looked and finally found the plack for Mike Piazza.

I shouted to my uncle look!

So he came over and saw Mike Piazza’s plack. Then my dad found a plack with a manager with a funny nickname, me,my uncle, and my dad started laughing. Then we started to look for really popular baseball players.

I said’’ I found one’’ it was Ken Griffey jr. He was one of the best baseball players to ever play the game of baseball.

I wanted to see even more, so I looked even more. But I could not find anything, So I went to the gift shop and looked around. I found a hat section and found a cool mets hat and tried it on and it was too big for me, I wish it was smaller So I could get it. Then I saw this case and it had peoples gold gloves, gold gloves are an award given to the best fielders of the year, and I saw all of them. I was amazed that I could see a gold glove from that close up. Then I looked around even more and found these baseballs that say baseball Hall of Fame and I knew it was perfect because I have a baseball collection.

So I said’’ could I get it’’?

My dad said’’yes’’

Then I saw these little wood bats that you can play with, they are not meant to be used in a game. I took it out of the rack and started swinging it. Then I saw these pieces of paper that had all of the players placks on it. So my uncle and I started to look for the guy with the funny nicknames paper, we found it and started to laugh. I said wanted to buy it but he didn’t.

Then my dad said it  is time to go, so we bought the ball and we headed out of the Hall of Fame. I had a pretty awesome time there, I thank my dad and uncle for taking me there and headed back to the hotel. Now I regret feeling so bored the Baseball Hall of Fame is awesome. To this day I still love the sport of baseball.

  1. I love your story but I found a few typos and problems with the paragraphs. You did a very good job about making us feel like we are there but I think u could add a few more details.

Overall I thought your story was great!

  2. It was a great narrative and I got a feel of the Hall of Fame, but there was really no problem and also I think that you should have put more text for the different sections
