First, Before I start this post I’m gonna give a summary of my whole project. If you don’t remember the car goes down the ramp hits a wood block the block hits Jenga blocks which hit the squash ball that went down a track and hits a train thee train goes down a track hitting CDs that knocks down a ball launched a car that hits CDs which pop the balloon. Immediately found a problem the CDs kept falling over so I put Jenga block in between and that solved the problem. Besides that, I had no other problem with step five and six.
Five days ago I got assigned my Rube Goldberg project. So far it is great! But before I talk whats a rube Goldberg a rube Goldberg is a bunch of machines performing a simple task. When I got my assignment I drew my sketch right when I got home. Then for the next four day, I just gathered wood blocks for the project. After it was Saturday and I started to build but I didn’t realize I had so much room. So I completely redesigned my project. So far I have build four steps, And I think my project will be epic.
In the computer lab we are doing a stop motion animation project. For those who don’t know stop motion animation is when you take lots of pictures to form a movie. My stop motion has a assassin trying to hurt a bad guy. It’s very difficult in a group because we had to agree on a theme, and you don’t have full creative control. It’s also difficult because the camera’s are not very movable so we can’t get very complex angle’s. Even though I’ve done stop motion before this animation seem’s far more difficult than making my old animations. I am also working with my friends but I think that’s harder because we might start goofing off. In conclusion my stop motion project is very difficult but I will make it out alive.
Lately I have been re-reading my favorite book El deafo. The book is about Cece Bell who is deaf. When she was six she moved to a different neighborhood. She went to a school for the deaf but then switched. She makes a friend but her friend is very mean. She gets her dog to bite her and she said she is better than her. Then she makes a new friend Ginny. Ginny is nice and funny but cece gets annoyed with how ginny talks she gets really mad and makes Ginny cry.
In class, we are reading Home of the Brave and this is our latest question. Gol is a cow, but Katherine Applegate (author of Home of The Brave) also uses her as a symbol. How does Gol represent Kek’s past, present, and possibly his future?Gol represents Kek’s past since in his old home he herded cattle so taking care of Gol reminded Kek of his old life. The second thing that Gol represents is Kek’s old family because his brother and dad are dead and he does not know if his mom is dead or alive also Gol in Kek’s old language means family. Lastly Gol represents Kek’s future I think that where the book is going I think Kek might leave America to return to his old home to herd cattle like Gol so Gol represents that to. I think Gol might even represent Kek because near the end of the book it said of see goes to her new land to begin again and Kek went to America to begin again. THE END!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It was October 23rd 2017 heathcote field it was our first Rocketry launch. During the rocketry launch I had a ton of fun My rocket went straight up and it was super duper good. According to the data JEXL rocket went highest and science Minds the lowest. My Rockets average was 47 meters and we got third place. Me and my friend Marcello helped set up the launch pad for my rocket I have a video and I will show it to you later in the blog. The ways that the rocket worked was that we filled it with 200 mm of water and 90 PSI of air pressure. We did this project because of research on Isaac Newton and learning about his laws of motion. We used kanalo matters to measure how high the Rockets went.Some of the meters that the kilometers got weren’t so accurate so we had to take them out. The Rockets went super high and they looked super good. but finally I have two questions. Why did the Rockets not go so high some of them. And how does the water in air work.
FOR THE PAST TWO WEEKS I have BEEN WORKING ON MY ROCKETRY PROJECT. MY GROUP MADE A GREAT INSPIRATION BOARD IN THIS POST I WILL TALK ABOUT WHAT I PUT AND WHY I PUT IT ON THE BOARD. THE FIRST THING I PUT ON WAS A PICTURE OF A NASA SPACE SHUTTLE. I PUT IT ON BECAUSE IT REMINDED ME TO MAKE A GREAT ROCKET AND A GOOD WING SHAPE. THE SECOND THINGS THAT I PUT WERE TWO DIAGRAMS OF A ROCKET BECAUSE THE DIAGRAMS TOLD US THE PARTS OF A ROCKET. THE LAST THING THAT I PUT WAS A NASA LOGO I PUT IT ON BECAUSE NASA IS GREAT ROLE MODEL FOR ROCKETS. I REALLY LIKE MY BOARD AND WOULDNT CHANGE IT. THE END.
