The Scarsdale School District has purchased a blogging platform to create a common base of knowledge and writing experiences for students, in line with the Teachers College Reading & Writing Project curriculum. Students will begin to develop digital literacy skills as well as learn to curate their own portfolio as they grow.
Here at Heathcote we have introduced blogging to all students across the 3rd grade. Ms. Conklin, Ms. DeGrazia, Ms. Luciano, and Ms. Mangan spoke about the curriculum connections, student engagement, and enriched activities across all content areas. Mr. Casal provided the technical background and importance of introduce blogging in the elementary environment.
