I think in the part I read the theme is believing. I think this because people where out in sea for days thinking about the lifeboats coming to rescue that. The grown ups are telling the kids that the royal navy is coming to help. So many kids are freezing to death and their skin is raw from the life jacket and the salt is hurting them. Some kids are thinking it won’t come to help and some are. At night it was very hard to see and the life boat came to rescue them, but not all of the people since a lot of them are spread out. The next morning the boat is driving away from the crash site, then it starts to drive back because he’s believing that there is more kids to help save. They head back and can’t see anymore so he puts on the sirens for people to know they are coming. Suddenly Jack on the raft is sitting, shivering and hungry. The people on Jacks life boat don’t believe they will make it out but Jackie because his mom told him that they are coming. Suddenly they see a boat coming they are very excited and are happy. When the boat reaches them they through down the rope but they can’t climb it because they are too weak from the cold and when they get on the boat they worm up in the engine room to warm up. Still the rescue boat is still looking for people and are believing there are more kids to save. On Collins boat they are doubtful that the boat ins coming. Though Collins says he hear a boat but so did the other people multiple time. This time they see the boat and are happy, they are singing of happiness. The kids never gave up believing for a rescue boat and the rescue boat captain never stop looking for kids.

It’s dark in the morning and BANG a torpedo hit. The boat has been looking out for U boats the whole time but when there sleeping a German U boat hit them with a torpedo. The captain of the U boat name was Alex and he didn’t know it was kids on board he only found that out 1 and half hears later. Everyone is rushing tom the life boats. A lot of people are drowning and freezing to death when on the life boats in the water. Some people can’t swim and are drowning and some people are bleeding to death. They are waiting for a rescue boat to come but it will take days since off the horrible storm and in around a week the hurricane will hit where they are now. So many kids died from this experience. People are falling off the life boats and are drowning and some are getting on other life boats. Also crew members are dying. The people helping the kids are putting the kids life first over their life. I think that it was a bad thing that Germany killed a lot children. Also kids parents shouldn’t have to wake up to their hearing that the boat crashed and their kid could be dead. I think the worst thing was that the people that died mostly had a long death because they drowned and bleed out. The kids have to wait a long time for the boat to come and rescue them. It will be very rough with little food.

The kids on the boat have a long and dangerous boat trip to Canada. There is some bad weather and also U boats looking to sink ship. When they spot the U boats the kids are playing around and one time later that day at night when everyone is sleeping BOOM!!! Two torpedo’s are fired at them both of them miss. many kids dead, many injured. The kids were trained for what to do when this happens. After the U boat sinked the ship they were celebrating not even knowing that there were children on board the ship. The commander of the ships was Ajax’s who a couple years earlier had been talking to Hitler about how well of a job he did sinking his first ship. When the kids got on the life boats only one of the two landed in the water well the one that didn’t got filled with a little water. Many people died from water leaks in the ship and for being in such a rush and forgetting their life jackets. The Royal Navy was coming to rescue them but it could take a long time for them to come and help the kids on the boat. Help hasn’t arrived yet and with the weather it will be a long time and without the storm it would be only 7 hours. They say that there is a hurricane on the way and that it is a hundred miles away from them. People were still inside the ship and people were still looking to help people one girl Alisa was bleeding to death and couldn’t move and was in a puddle of water. The holes in the ship were opening up more and getting bigger the ship was going to sink soon. Help was still arriving slowly and they can not go fast because of the bad weather so they were going slow and it would be a while before they came.

Gussie Grimmond and the rest of England were bombed by Germany. All people could hear were war sirens and bombs dropping and guns firing. People were hiding in the Anderson bomb shelters and a lot of people underground in train stations. It was a scary couple of days. After the blitzkrieg happened Kids ages 3-15 were aloud to sign up for boat ride that will take you someplace safe. Gussie’s boat was to Canada and there were around 90 other kids there that are from England. They only were aloud to bring certain things. When they stopped at Liverpool for day they got on to a much more luxury boat. People that didn’t have a lot of money growing up were very happy since there was a lot of food selections and areas to play in.Some people were. very said since they had to leave their parents. I think that this is scary for the children and that the kids had a very bad experience that made it unsafe for them to be at their homes until the war is over. The ship to Canada was dangerous. They needed to watch out for U-Boats and they would send a destroyer out 3 miles in the water to search for U-boats and they had to watch out for planes. This was a very scary and dangerous trip but I think it is worth the risk tom do this because you could die in England. When they were on the ship they spotted something a head that could of been a big problem for the people on the ship because the problem was that they could get hurt and most likely die. This matters because the kids shouldn’t be getting hurt and they left England so they wouldn’t but Germany still might hurt innocent children.

Capstone is something when all the Scarsdale Elementary School students in 5th grade pick a topic that they want to learn more about. It can be sports, science, anything you want. My topic is Concussions. A concussion is when you hurt your part of your brain. The part that’s injured is nerve-cell damage it makes it difficult to do academics. The part of your brain that is affected is between the back left parietal lobe and the left occipital lobe.  I chose Concussions because when I got a concussion in September I wanted to know more about this topic. There are many symptoms of a concussion. If you feel dizzy, confused, have difficulty concentrating and remembering, tired, and if you blank out for a couple seconds. If you get these symptoms you should see a doctor.

When the project is due the 5th grade presents your topic to the school on June 8th.

http://Human Right 10 – The Right to a Fair Trial

snow day snow day I hope the schools are closed. I wake up in the morning and look out the window and all I see is snow. Being really happy calling all your friends to come over. Playing with them in the snow having snow ball fights. Playing tackle football. having hot chocolate. Play all the fun games. At the end of the day being tired and going to school the next day, but your wishing you had another snow but you don’t. At least you had no SCHOOL today!

There’s one right I want to talk about the No torture. No torture Human right is when people don’t have the right to torture. I want to learn a lot about this Human Right. I don’t think people should get injured for doing nothing or doing something by accident. Also for saying no to a bullying they will hurt you. I also feel bad for the people who get hurt. People threaten people to do something for them if you say no or don’t do they will hurt you. Also if you tell the police they might find you and hurt you. Here is a link. Human Right link

On Feb break I went to a resort in Punta Cana which is in the Dominican Republic. At the resort there was a pool, many restaurants, place were you can play games witch I didn’t go in there, and a beach. The food and drinks were included when you paid for the resort so you can have as much food and drinks for the same amount of money. In one of the pools their was a bar inside the pool and you can bring the drinks in the water. One day we went swimming with the dolphins when we went we had a picture of seal kissing us witch was gross and touch a sting ray. The place took out the stingers from the sting ray I decided not to touch it because it looks weird. Then we swam with the dolphins I did awesome things with a dolphin. The first thing we did was pet the dolphin. Then we rode on the dolphin which was bumpy and fun all you need to do is grab onto the fin. Another thing is they jumped over us. The rest of the things were we danced with a dolphin. The last thing was we kissed a dolphin and they kissed me which was gross. I had a lot of fun especially with my baby cousins. My whole family on my dad’s side came.

My favorite sport is football. My favorite team is the NY Giants, my favorite player on the Giants is Odell Beckham Jr. He is the one who made up one hand catches while diving the catch is called a Odell or OBJ. I don’t like the Redskins, Eagles, Cowboys, and the Packers. My second favorite player is Eli Manning and Sterling Shepard . Eli Manning is the QB. Shepard is a wide receiver and so is Odell. Shepard is a rookie that is a player that got drafted this year into the NFL.
