Amelia Earhart

The important thing about Amelia Earhart

                                                 By, Heather Schutzer

“ We’re running North to South” These were the last words ever heard from her ,again, it was received at exactly 8:45 a.m. July 2, 1937.  Amelia Earhart was born on July 24, 1897 in Atchison, Kansas.

The important thing about Amelia Earhart is that she did things  that no other woman was able to accomplish before her.  Before Amelia ever started flying, she went on a flight, it was in 1920.  Amelia’s first flying teacher was Neta Snook, Amelia bought her first airplane in 1921 and claimed the “Canary.” After she got the plane she was breaking a lot of records like the women’s altitude record of 14,000!  Amelia Earhart  was the first woman to fly across the Atlantic Ocean, solo, But Amelia didn’t decide to do it, a man named George Putman did, he wanted Amelia to be the first woman to fly across the Atlantic Ocean, and then Amelia agreed to the plan on June 17, 1928. When she did it, she made it in 20 h and 40 mins, non stop. She made many more flights like this one after, that were very risky. Now it was time for her last flight, an attempt to fly around the whole globe. She started the attempt on June 1,  1937, Miami, Florida, but on her way to Howland Island, her plane crashed, and know one ever found her, even today people still haven’t found her., she reported that she was running out of fuel. Can you believe that she did a lot of this because, well she loved flying, and she thought girls and boys to men and women are equ

I’m Back

I’m Back!!

Are you excited to read some new posts of mine? Because I’m ready to write them, I’m back!

I love swimming, I’m even on a swim team called Badgers, it’s so much fun. I had my first swim meet two weeks ago, on Sunday, and even though I didn’t get 1, 2, or 3ed my coach said I did very well and either way I was proud of myself, but this week I got 2ed on 50 breaststroke,  my best stroke.

I also love, love, love traveling, I love traveling to new places, one of my favorite family traditions is to go to Nevis during Winter Break. It’s so much fun there because it’s warm and I get to see monkeys ( my favorite animals ever!) and sometimes monkey families.

I love cats and kittens. I used to have a cat, but she died when I was in 1st grade. Now I have a kitten who is smaller and healthy and she’s a alley cat, her name is Ruby, but I call her Rubiny or cutey.

I love learning because I get to learn something new every day and I like that, I also want to be a teacher when I grow up so I have to learn and love school to do that.

I sure hope you’re ready to read my new posts, this year, be sure to comment about what you think about my posts, and if you want comment about suggestions about what I can do to make it better I don’t care because I love revising, see you when I write my next post! Bye.
