In this book called The World According to Humphrey, by Betty G. Birney. There was this teacher named, Mrs. Mac. She wanted a class pet, so she went to Pet-O-Rama. She found a hamster and she fell in love with it, she had to take it home. So she told the pet owner, I want this hamster. So she bought the hamster. She name the hamster, Humphrey. She brought the hamster to school that day, all the kids also liked Humphrey, after school every day Mrs. Mac, took Humphrey home, and oh the advenchers Humphrey had.
Summary – One day Humphrey’s life would change. One day Mrs. Mac said that she was going to leave the class forever. All the classmates were sad even Humphrey, because he know he could not go with Mrs. Mac. the next day Mrs. Mac brought Humphrey to school and then left, and there was another teacher named Mrs. Brisbane, and she was mean. At the end of the day, Mrs. Brisbane did not even take humphrey home. So Humphrey was left alone, in room 26. Than the light came on and in came a man named Aldo. Little did he know it, later he and Aldo would become buddies. On Wednesday, the same thing happened, Mrs. Brisbane didn’t take Humphrey home. Finally it was Friday, and Humphrey was really worried. What if he had to stay in the classroom for 2 WHOLE DAYS! Gratefully some parent teachers came in and said they were worried, that if Humphrey was left here for 2 whole days, he might not live. So it was settled, he was going to get taken home this weekend, but the parents were not done. They said that if the teacher couldn’t take him home (because the teacher couldn’t) that the kids and their parents would take turns bringing Humphrey home, but either of the parents couldn’t take Humphrey this weekend, but could take him next week. This was bad news for Humphrey, would he have a home to stay in this weekend? Thankfully the principle was there, and he could take Humphrey home. Humphrey felt very proud. He was going home with the most important person in the school. On the way home, the principle seemed very excited to have Humphrey come home with him. At home humphrey realized that the principles own kids didn’t obey him??? Everyone at school did, but his own kids didn’t that just didn’t make any sense. If anything it should be the other way around. Humphrey knew what he had to do. So he attempted to make the principles own kids obey him. By the end of the weekend his kids were obeying him almost as well as the students did! Little did Humphrey know this kind of skill was going to be helpful in the later weekends he had. Weekends past and he used the skill a lot more than he thought he would. But no,matter what he never forgot Mrs. Mac! Finally the last weeked were the holidays. Mr. Brisbane was able to take humphrey home, but he warned him that this was probably, not going to be a fun Holiday. He said that it wasn’t fun since his wife, got run over by a car. When they were finally home, Humphrey saw the grumpy wife. He now also thought this would not be a fun holiday. But then his opportunity came, he could make Mrs. Brisbane not grumpy and playful! So he got out of his cage and squeaked catch me if you can! So Mrs. Brisbane saw and started rolling in her wheelchair and saying, “ You can’t outsmart me.” But Humphrey cept on running his little heart out. Up until Mr. Brisbane came through the door. Than Humphrey went up to his cage and locked himself back up. Mr. Brisbane came in and saw his wife a;l; red and smiling, so he asked her, “ What happened.” So Mrs. Brisbane tolled him the whole story. Then the rest of the story was so smooth, and the rest of the holidays was very fun. Mrs. Brisbane and Mr. Brisbane even made humphrey an obstacle course, and Humphrey loved it!
I think the author’s message is that if you think that you are the only species that can change the world than you are wrong. One exadence is that on all of the vistes to all the families he helped them with one thing, and that thing, changed their lives forever. I recommend that you read this book, because it is fun and entertaining, and maybe you have an interaction to the book!
Do you and your friends have anything in common? Well me and Cami do! Me and Cami are like milk and cookies, sweet, and go good with each other. Me and Cami are alike because, We both like school, We both love sugar. Most of all because we have been through hard times (sometimes together.)
The first reason me and Cami are alike is that we both like school. School is sometimes hard, but overall it is fun. I like the projects a lot and so does Cami, we also like, specials like art, spanish and some other specials. A project in school that I liked was in third grade we each chose a word and we had to do pictures and a poster on the word, and what it the word meant. My word was Love. Love was so fun to do I got a heart shaped poster and got a lot of pictures it was so fun after we presented them to the class Mrs. Boyum (my third grade teacher) Asked if she could keep a couple to share to the future classes I raised my hand so did some other people, but only mine and a friend of mine got chosen. Me and Cami do not, not like school. Me and Cami can be alsike. Me and Cami are good friends.
Me and Cami both love sugar. I am called Sugar, but she also likes sugar. We like desserts, candy, and other sugary things. We have both been to The Sugar Factory, and bakeries, and Peachwave. One time I went to The Sugar Factory was when it was my brothers birthday. On my brothers birthday they gave us this delicious Ice cream Sundae though it was not my birthday it was still very good. I want to go back there again!
Me and Cami both have a sweet tooth. Me and Cami would both eat candy every time we want if we could. Me and Cami go to a lot of Sugary places.
Even though me and Cami have both like school, and we both love sugar. The most important reason that me and Cami are alike is that me and Cami have been through hard times, and one of them we went through a hard time together. We were getting lunch together and, I know what I was getting cheese pizza. So we went up and got our lunches and I saw my label, and it didn’t say cheese pizza it said, Tuckey and cheese sandwich, Cami also knew she was getting cheese pizza and her bag aso said, Tuckey and cheese sandwich. We were both upset that we didn’t get what our Mom’s told us we got, but at least there was a cookie. I was still in the line so I asked the lady,”my mom said i got cheese pizza, but my bag says I get turkey and cheese sandwich.” She said,” that you get whatever it says on the bag.” I was so upset, but I knew I had a cookie in there, so I went to my seat and ate the cookie, but I was still hungry and so was Cami, and we don’t like there turkey and cheese sandwich. So we asked the ade,” Can we go to the office and call our moms. The ade said,”Yes.”So we went up to the office. The office didn’t let us call our moms, but it did let us talk to coach. Coach said that we couldn’t change what we got and that she couldn’t do anything about it. So we went down back to the Cafeteria and I ended up just eating Veggie Straws and a cookie. Me and Cami are not perfect. Me and Cami like the same foods. Me and Cami go with each other a lot of places.
Me and Cami both like school. Me and Cami both like sugar. Most importantly, we have been through hard times (sometimes together.) Me and Cami are great friends that is just some ways me and cami are alike, there are other ways. You can switch us around anyway you want, but it doesn’t matter because however hard you try me and Cami will always be a perfect match! Friends we are!
Most people think that friends are just friends, plain old friends, but friends are 100% more important than you think, because you can tell them anything, they invite you to play with them, and most of all they make you feel better. Read on, to find out why these things make friends 100% more important than you think. I hope buy the end you agree with me that friends are 100% more important than you think.
The first reason that friends are 100% more important than you think is that, you can tell them anything. For example, one day at school I was having a fight with someone, than Joanna (one of my friends and sister) came up to me and asked,” What is wrong?” Even though I was upset I still managed to tell her the whole story without telling her,” I do not want to finish the story. Goodbye.” That is one example that I told my friend something I didn’t want to, but I did. My friends are there for me. My friends are there when I am hurt. . My friends are like my sheids.
The second reason that friends are 100% more important than you think is, they invite you to play with them. One time I let someone in, and someone let me in. I asked Joanna (because she was the mom, in the game),” Can I play family with you?”
In response she said,” Yes. What do you want to be?”
I answered,”Great. Can I be the youngest baby or just a baby please?”
Joanna said,” You can be the youngest baby, now let’s play.”
“Great,” I said. As I looked around I saw Cami, who looked lonely. So I went over and asked her,” Do you want to play family with me?”
“ Great,” I said “What do you want to be, I am the youngest baby?”
Cami said,” Can I be your twin.” So I asked Joanna and she said,”Yes.”So I told Cami the good news and then we all played happily together. My friends are there when I am scared. My friends make me laugh. My friends never doubt me.
Even though my friends invite me to play with them, and you can tell them anything. The most important reason that friends are 100% more important than you think is, that they make you feel better. One example of this was that I was hungry and I had nothing to eat, even my snack was stolen earlier in the day. I told Joanna, and first she offered me her snack, that she had not ate yet. I turned away the offer though, that was a bad choice though, I guess I wanted real food (like fruits and vegetables.) Later she tried again, but this time offered me her banana. I turned away the offer. Again. Finally at the end of recess, Joanna convinced me to go ask Mrs. Newnan (the lunch aid) for something to eat. Guess what I got. A banana, how funny is that. I could have taken Joanna’s when she first offered it to me. My friends are there whenever I need them. My friends are inspiring. My friends are trustful.
I can tell my friends anything. My friends let me play with them. Most of all, my friends make me feel better. My friends are good friends. These are just some of the reasons why friends are 100% more important than you think. There are a ton more so go find them. Well you are at it, go find one of your friends and say,” Thank you.”
Picture of friends. Friends are like cookies and cupcakes, sweet. Friends are 100% more important than you think.

Summary Vinay and his friends entered a future contest called, The Future City Competition. This competition has been going on for 26 years. This year’s future assignment was “ The Age-Friendly City.” This designing competition requests skill and imagination. You had to make a city that older people can live in. Only grade six – eight can enter. 44,000 people entered, but only a few people got chosen for the finals, gratefully vinay and his team were one of them. The finals were held in Washington D.C. First place went to “Halona.” That was Vinay’s team! When Vinay got asked a question after he won, one of his answers were,” Not only does it teach you engineering, but it also teaches you qualities that you need in life, like public speaking, leadership skills, and teamwork.” for winning 1st place Vinay and his crew got a free trip to U.S. Space Camp and $7,500 for their schools STEM program.
Personal Response I chose this article because I like the future, and to me the future sounds better then now. I think this article matters because the future might hold bad or good things, so it is important to get a sense of what the future holds.
