soccer

Soccer by hiroki

Soccer is such a fun sport and  easy to practice if you have a ball. And you also always can be better  if you practice .

One time I was playing soccer near the opponent`s soccer goal, the soccer ball came near me and I scored by luck after that I play forward, but when I played a game in U.S.A my coach said I`m so fast .I never thought I was fast because I always get 8th in japan but now I like to play in midfield because if I play midfield I can do good at it and have more fun. So now I love to play midfield.

I hate winter because I can’t play soccer. Winter is boring because I can’t play any sports and I just need to stay home and finish up my homework.

And mostly I like soccer because it’s so fun and if you score you feel so good and your teammate will be happy.

I wish more people will play soccer because it so fun.

Title: Japan’s Greenery Day

Source: world book online

Article Date: May 4, 2018

News Type: World

On May 4th there is a holiday called Midorino hi ( みどりの日 ) called Greenery Day.Before being designated Greenery Day, May 4 was a national holiday already simply because it fell between two other holidays: Constitution Day (May 3) and Children’s Day (May 5). (In Japan, a day between two holidays automatically becomes a holiday.) Add Showa Day (which replaced Greenery Day on April 29), and Japan has four holidays during a seven-day period known as “Golden Week.”  People in Japan like to go to a vacation and I will tell you one more day that I like. It is called Children’s Day (May 5). I like this day because I am child! In Japan I put 鯉のぼり(koinobori) (It is a staff with carp on it for Children’s Day.) It means the carp are going up the river

⬇ This is koinobori

And we also eat some good snacks like kasiwamochi !

And sometimes boys wear the hat called kabuto

Personal Response: I chose this article because I didn’t know there are current events in World Book Online. So I looked for the articles that are interesting and I found the article about Greenery day.

How Friday The 13th Got Its Spooky Reputation   by hiroki

Title:How friday the 13th got its spooky reputation

Source:Dogonews

Article Date:April 12 2018

News Type:National

Friday the 13th is an unlucky day.  It is an unlucky day because 12 is a good number in many ways, but if you add one, then you have 13. So bad thing will happen. Also Jesus Christ died on Friday.  So if you put 13th and Friday together it will be a super unlucky day.

13 is considered unlucky because it follows the “perfect” number 12. There are, after all, 12 months in a year, 12 zodiac signs, 12 tribes of Israel, 12 apostles of Jesus, etcetera.

If you see at this image so many people are scary at friday the 13th.

So I think many people are scary but in nothing but will happen. But you should be be careful. Bye

i think it will be so big help to astronaut because they will never get lost if you use “ take me home “Buttons.

I think this is very good idea because if you use it we won’t get lost in space and i wish somebody make this amazing “take me home” Buttons by 2030 because I hear NASA’S rockets will Fly to Mars.

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year!

Mr. Deberry taught us skills about non-fiction reading.

My team members are me, Heather, Max, Shea, Daniel, Rory, and Hana. We learned many ways to organize information. First, we learned how to take notes with boxes and bullets.  Next, we learned how to make a Venn Diagram to show what’s different and what’s the same. We also learned we should use a  T chart because it can separate information. So now we use them a lot!

I think these organizers will help us to study Colonial Times to find the important details and write about them.

He was born in Ohio on August 5, 1930.

And he died on August 25, 2012.

“One small step for (a) man, one giant leap for mankind.”

This is the famous sentence that he said when he stepped on the moon. But the important thing about Neil Armstrong is that he was the first person to step on the moon.
