Electromagnet vs Permanent

Today in science we were testing electromagnets to see if it could attract with a certain amount of wire. I learned that electromagnets are temporary magnets and that the can attract to anything a regular magnet could attract to.Ms. Boyer asked the class to come up with questions one of mine is are there magnets that only repel or can you turn a permanent magnet into a temporary magnet. Overall I loved this project.

Electric Circuits

Today in science we made electric circuits. I worked with my science partner. We learned how to make an electric circuit. First we had to wrap wire around a bolt. That was hard because we had to make sure we did not overlap the wire. Then we had to connect the wire to the battery holder. That part was hard so we had to ask for help. After we got that done it was an electromagnet. The last part was testing. To do that we had to grab some paperclips and get to testing. When we did that our record was 33 paperclips. Overall I loved this project.

Science with Magnets

Today in science with magnets I learned that to make some magnets repel you have to put the corner to the to the flat side. I also learned that shaved iron can attract through plastic. During the lesson we had stations to go to. When I went to station two I found out how to control a magnet repelling. That was my favorite station. Overall I loved this experience.
