Maglev#2

Today in science we made maglev trains. A maglev train is a train that levitates by magnetic repulsion. I worked in a group. Our idea for the train track was to put strip magnets with disk magnets on top and the same thing for the train.

That did not work. The problem was that the magnets on the track were flipping over and attracting. So we asked for help. That is when we got the idea to tape the disk magnets on so it would not flip over. It did not work. At that point I was starting to think we could not do it but I tried one more time. That time we took off all the strip magnets on everything.

Sadly when we tested it did not work. I feel like on these tries my group needed to help each other more. Finally on the fifth try we got it. On that try we did everything with strip magnets the track had about 8 magnets divided equally on each side. On the train we did the same thing but only with 2 magnets divided equally.

The next step was putting weight on the train. My group wanted to start off easy so we started with two. Eventually we made our way to thirty six weights. Overall I liked this experiment.
