Isaac Newton was born on January 4, 1642 and lived in Woolsthorpe  with his mother. Sadly, his father died two months before he was born. He was very active as a child and loved to play with his friends. One day, Isaac was out playing with his friends but he got tired and decided to lean on a tree. He slept against the tree without knowing that it was an apple tree. He was sleeping when an apple fell on his head. He wondered why the apple fell down instead of up. Isaac asked his parents why the apple fell down, but no one could give him an answer.

Isaac observed everything he threw up in the air, eventually came down. This was how Isaac Newton discovered  the force of gravity. Isaac discovered that Earth pulled objects down and he also discovered that Earth has gravity. Isaac had a thought that gravity was like a string, if something went up that string called gravity would pull it back down. Before Isaac had theories of universal gravitation, he almost became a farmer. At age 17, Newton studied in school but his mother ordered him to come back home to learn the farming trade.
