Today in school, we conducted a few different experiments. We worked with our science groups and combined a teaspoon of colored sugar with different liquids. We added two drops of green food coloring to a cup of sugar. Once we had the green sugar ready, we made a hypothesis of what would happen when we added a teaspoon of colored sugar to the cup of oil. My hypothesis was, if we combine one teaspoon of colored sugar with the oil, then the sugar will dissolve slowly and the liquid will change color to green. The result was that the colored sugar sunk to the bottom and they oil turned clear.
Next, we made a hypothesis of what would happen if we mix one teaspoon of colored sugar with water. My hypothesis was, if we mix one teaspoon of colored sugar with the water, then the sugar will dissolve and color the water green. My hypothesis was correct and the colored sugar dissolved and colored the water. After, we made a hypothesis of what would happen if we add one teaspoon of colored sugar to vinegar. My hypothesis was, if we add a teaspoon of colored sugar to the vinegar, then the sugar will float because of the density level in the vinegar. My hypothesis was incorrect and the color sugared colored the vinegar and didn’t dissolve.
