Feature Article Reflection

So in school, our teacher assigned us a partner and we were going to pick a school-related topic, to make a feature article. Our group got together and we came up with a topic. Our first topic was the school bathrooms because they were you know, not-so-good. We were on a roll until we realized there was nothing to write down.

So we tried another topic. That topic was the school lockers. We researched the size lockers should be, wrote down some intros, and then we had a draft. But, we needed much more info. So, we decided to interview our vice principal and my sister. That was a big help. Our vice-principal told us that she agreed that we should’ve had bigger lockers. My sister said that she can’t fit all of her stuff in her locker.

Then we had a bunch of information, but then we realized that we didn’t have any photos so we took some pictures of the lockers to show our readers the size and just so they get an idea of what we are talking about.

Then we thought we were perfectly finished with our feature article, but our teacher thought otherwise. She said that we couldn’t just slap some information onto a page and expect it to be amazing. “You need to organize your work and choose the font, the letter sizing and much more,”.

So we got to work, finalizing our pages, making everything look picture perfect adding the perfect size, and then… it looked amazing! My partners and I were so proud of each other that we had done the job.

Then we printed out the final copy, It was so cool. It looked like an article in the newspaper! That is my feature article journey. I hope you enjoyed!!

American Revolution #1

The Question Is: So far,  what are you most interested in learning more about?

My Response: I am looking forward to learn more about the Boston Tea Party in the future and the intolerable acts. I am excited to learn more about the American Revolution and the Boston Tea Party and the intolerable acts.

Final Read Aloud Reflection – Wonder – 4

One thing that stayed with me after wonder was Jack Will’s friendship to August. Jack Will is really nice to August. He has a great bond with August. For example they were such good friends that when Julian (mean, disliked, rude, neglecting, sly, afraid of being different) insulted August so much that it got on Jack’s nerves and he punched Julian, knocking out a baby tooth. This shows that Jack is willing to do almost anything for friendship. Jack Will is my favorite character in the book and the movie. But I do like all of the characters. But Julian, no so much.

Charlie’s Wish

I  think Charlie’s wish is “I wish my broken family would come back together,”. I think this because since we first started the book, her mom could not get her feet on the ground. Her dad also was in jail since we first started the book. Her sister, Jackie was living at her friends house since we first started the book. That’s why I think “I wish my broken family would come back together,” is charlie’s wish.

Read Aloud Reflection – Wonder – 2

This Read Aloud Refection is 2 in the series of posts in the named Wonder

My Precept is “Be the player not the watcher”.

I think so far August is having a good time at school besides what Julian did too him I think he will become greater friends with Summer than with Jack Will. August was having a bad time at lunch until Summer came and sat next to him and they became friends. I think that august likes Summer like Summer likes August. He also said “were kind of like beauty and the beast”.

Read Aloud Reflection – Wonder – 1

This Read Aloud Reflection is the 1st in a series of posts about the book Wonder.

So far in Wonder Julian keeps making fun of August in ways out loud that the teacher wont notice. For example since August and Julian are both big fans of stars wars and Julian noticed the braid in August’s hair and  said so your a big fan of star wars. What’s your favorite character, is it Darth Sidious? He said that because Darth Sidious is defromed on his face just like August.
