About Me Project

For the about me project, I decided to put my favorite things. It was a really good project, and here’s why. I liked learning the new coding skills, so it was super fun to learn more, and I liked the project when I was finished, so everything about the project is amazing. Overall, I would give it an 11/10 In the future, I’ll Be very excited to do more of these.

Computer Science is Changing Everything

Today I watched a video about computer science. It had loads of people talking about all the things that computer science is. I learned that Mark Zuckerberg created facebook in his college dorm, not expecting for millions of people to use his creation on the daily. There was also a woman saying that computer science can be anything, for example her workplace had fashion and was involving computer science. This proves my point. Overall, I definitely agree that computer science is changing everything.

Maglev Day 2

We used two strip magnets for the track, and two strip magnets for the train. Knowing the properties of magnets helped me because I that like poles repel, and opposite poles attract, and if I didn’t know that then I might of put opposite poles together and it would attract.

Most of the stuff that my group did failed. For example when we used disk magnets it did not work because they were all opposite poles. Another time we use magnets instead of tape the magnet on top attracted and it flipped over. I learned that I should listen to my teammates ( which I did not do ). But I changed and I listened to my teammates and we got it to levitate.

I learned that EDP can be frustrating i but it inspired me to keep going and to not give up.  I also learned that failure is okay you should also always think before you do stuff it also never ends.

Maglev Day 1

A Maglev train is a transportation system that transports people from place to place safely and efficiently. It works because there is no friction. The only friction that there is is air friction. My groups idea was five disk magnets on the train, and two strip magnets for the track.

Nothing worked on Friday. We failed on Friday because we put some magnets north to south. They were supposed to be  south to south.

Our group did not agree on everything. Some of my group were getting angry because nothing was working. I think we were a good group together because we finally agreed on something.

Expert book – The World of Turtles

This is my expert book about turtles. I chose turtles because I like them and because I know all about them.

I had to write the book first and then google slides. I also had to add pictures and captions. And on top of that I had to add diagrams.

I enjoyed finding pictures for my google slides. The challenging part was to make my diagrams.

I hope you like my expert book! My book is called “The World of Turtles”.

Here it is…

The History of Typography

During our class time in the computer lab, Mr. Casal showed us a video about the history of typography. After watching this video I learned that typography is NOT perfect. There are so many kinds of typography. Italics is one of them. I also thought that the video was so cool. There was so much animation. Like paper came out of the computer. It did not actually come out of the computer but it looked like it. It also looks like he pretends to type on paper. He makes the animation out of paper and the computer. William Caslon created the geometric sans. William Caslon the IV took away the serifs. Williams typography got really big. Eric Gill created a typography that was similar to Geometric sans. It was more gentle and smooth than Williams. He makes things move without touching whatever he moved. Italics was made for making more room on the paper and saving money. Jenson’s type face was much more readable than black letter.

This is the video we have watched:
