  1. My final thoughts on Because of Winn-Dixie are…

That in life it is important to let go of things.
Most of my predictions were wrong. But I still loved the book.:)
There were so many great lessons in the book.

  2. – One thought is that the book is very deep.
    – I feel like Winn – Dixie had an owner before Opal.

My favorite part is when Otis kept saying, “I brought pickles” when he was at the party because this made me laugh :). By the end of the story, Opal went from lonely to feeling loved and included.

  3. Is there another book in the series of Because of Winn Dixie? I loved it so much that I want to keep reading about the characters. My favorite part of the book is when Opal was passing out the invitations for the party because it made me curious to find out what was going to happen at the party. I also liked when Sweetie Pie brought dog pictures to the party to put all over the chairs and trees. It was really funny how she is obsessed with dogs.

  4. I like the book Because Of Winn Dixie because it is humorous in some parts and it has life lessons. My favorite part is when Otis says,”I got pickles,” to everyone. I like it because it is funny and he doesn’t have to say it because the jar the pickles are in is large. Another reason I like it is because it is repetitive and the expression Mrs. Conklin said it with made it funny. My last reason is that I think it is weird to bring pickles to a party. One thought is that maybe they could put the pickles in the egg salad sandwiches. Or, maybe it is all Otis could afford to bring.

  8. In the book, Because of Winn-Dixie, by Kate DiCamillo, Winn-Dixie and Opal make a good relationship with each other. But one day Winn-Dixie gets lost during a thunderstorm. There are lots of characters in this book, like Gloria Dump, Mama, Miss Franny block, Amanda Wilkinson, The Preacher, Otis, and Stevie and Dunlap Dewberry. Stevie and Dunlap to teased Opal, but at the end of the story, they change. The Preacher also changes because he finally admitted that he loved Winn-Dixie. The part of the book I liked most was when Opal and the Preacher go out searching for Winn-Dixie, thinking that he will be lost forever, but then when they get back to the party at Gloria Dump’s house, it turns out that Winn-Dixie was there all along, hiding under the bed in Gloria’s bedroom!

When I was asked questions about the story all I said were deep things because the story just really got to me. The main character is Opal who has lost her mama and then she moved; so, she has had a pretty rough life. When she meets the dog, Winn Dixie, her heart, which had kind of built a wall around itself, began to get stronger because Winn Dixie helped a lot to open the wall. Opal kind of lets people pull her away from the things she loves.
