Electromagnets

In Science, I made an electromagnet. An electromagnet is a magnet crated with specific materials. These materials areĀ  wire, a battery, a bolt, and a battery holder.

I learned that an electromagnet is different from a regular magnet because a regular magnet does not have parts. It is one piece. An electromagnet has parts, so if you remove a part from the electromagnet, it will not work.

I also learned that to make the electromagnet work, you have to wrap the wire around the bolt, and the more wire you wrap onto the bolt, the stronger the electromagnet becomes.

Some Questions I Have Are…

How do magnets repel each other?

If magnets pick up cars, can magnets also pick up boats?

Can magnets power objects?

How much metal can the strongest magnet hold?
