Creativity With Cardboard

20% time is a time that we express our ideas to make a class arcade. We got the idea to have twenty percent time from Google. We were inspired by Caine a boy from California who made some cool cardboard arcade games, he has a whole website he showed us that all of the cardboard and scraps that we just throw out or recycle can make one of the coolest arcades.

This is what the Whack-A-Mole game looked like before we painted it.
Emily, Marissa, MJ and I are painting the Whack-A-Mole game White because even though it is not the most bright color it sort of pops out and makes the box colorful.
These are the targets that you aim for in Whack-A-Mole for the target part is just drawn on paper with velcro but we always have to wear our google goggles for safety. But t
I am not really sure what he is working on but I think he is working on a prize but he is wearing his google glasses because if we are using any type of saw we have to wear our glasses to prevent us from getting hurt.

Million Dollar Genius

Too Hot Too Handle

In class my teacher assigned the class to finish watching Too Hot To Handle on History Channel she asked us to tell write a post about what all of the people did in different ways…

All of the men in million dollar genius have a problem with something that they see in their everyday life. For example, Ron Foxcroft was a referee in basketball and he noticed the old  whistle was hard to hear, The pea would sometimes get stuck and The whistle would sometimes break. Another example is Jay Sorenson was a real estate agent and his office was right across the street from Starbucks and he saw everybody walking out of Starbucks  holding the cup with the tip of their fingers because it was too hot to handle. Lastly Todd Greene got inspired because he was a big fan of Michael Jordan and he thought to himself,”Why don’t I shave my head?” When he shaved his head he had one problem he barely could reach the very back of his head.

The comparison that Ron Foxcroft, Jay Sorensen and Todd Greene have is they don’t sell enough of there product and feel they have to give up but they give themselves one more chance to be successful “Going though this process builds a desire to keep trying and trying even when people say you can’t do it.”says Jay Sorensen. They all felt that same way and were very successful Ron Foxcroft Sold over a million Fox 40 whistles  Jay Sorensen sold 700 million Java Jackets in a year and Todd Greene sold over 40 million dollars in sales.

Wizard Of Oz Epilogue

In class my teacher read us the book the Wizard of Oz. Nobody wanted it to end so my teacher told us to write how we wanted the story to end (Epilogue.)

One year later after Dorothy’s wonderful experience in Oz Dorothy laid on her bed wishing to see the Lion, Scarecrow, Tinman, Oz, Glinda, and the Munchkins. There was a little wind and Dorothy thought there was another tornado but as she was running to Auntie Em all of her fellow friends from Oz came hugging Dorothy with big excitement. How did you get here? Dorothy asked, On the wicked witch’s broom stick they all exclaimed! The lion ran up to Dorothy what is it what is it, Dorothy asked. It’s my crown i’m king of the forest just like you said. Congratulations said Dorothy.  What about you Scarecrow are you the ruler of oz? Yes Yes indeed I am! I even brought the Munchkins because they missed you so much. Tinman were you successful? Yes I brought the Winkies with me because they insisted on seeing you. Oh I am so glad you all came if only Glinda the good witch of the south was here. Dorothy heard a little voice oh yes I am oh yes I am it kept getting louder and louder until a bubble appeared right next to Dorothy a beautiful lady came walking out Glinda is it really you oh now it can’t get any better.

3…2…1… Blast Off

High flyers launch again! We got data from four clinometer readers for our second launch and they got two similar readings which were 30,30 and 50,50. Our first launch we used two vintage seltzer bottles and gray duct tape, we used styrofoam for our wings, and  sand papered them but, no duck tape on the wings,  for our nose cone we cut up a folder and duct tape it red. Our second launch we used two vintage seltzer bottles, a 3-D printed nose cone, and used styrofoam wings, we sand papered them  like we did for our previous launch. We duct taped our rocket with neon blue and neon green.

After our first launch my whole group was very disappointed but our second launch we were screaming with excitement.
