Technology is…

What is technology? Technology is some human. also it has to improve something like how pencils improved the way too right. Before the pencil is the chalk and chalk is messy just like glue or it has to it solve a problem like how the computers solve the problem of looking things up.

The thing that makes the paper technology because it solves a problem  also because it is man made by Johan vaaler in the the 1890  also soon they made a less efficient version of the paper in 1901 Also i think it was made in Germany and everybody loves it maybe

the problem that the paper clip solves is because it makes it if you have 1000 papers you can carry them all the time easier also because it is fun to model with

With out the paper clip there would be papers on the floor and then people would trip and  that a bad thing and soon people would break bones and nobody wants that manly Johan Vaaler.

The thing that the the paper improved on is glue the problem of glue is because it makes marks when you take it out just like the stapler which also needs … staples and staples cost money also the paper clip is fun to play with also the glue and the glue stick is messy just like liquid paint.

Plant blog day 2

Our plants are doing great our controlled is about 10 cm tall and it has flowers it looks very healthy it has like 10 leaves in total and it is growing up now and it has 3 seed pods and it also has about ten flowers and it is not growing as fast now and it is still green after a a week of planting it from the beginning it was 3 cm now after a few weeks it is 10 tall cm before it was growing sideways and now it growing up now it  flowers and pods.

And our manipulated is about 13 cm and it has two leaves turning yellow it has smaller leaves but it has a lot of flowers about 1 more than the controlled but it has only 1 pod the is it growing up and it is also growing a lot faster than before I want to see what the plant is. When we did not put it in sand and it was the same height and now it is taller and it smaller leaves.

I think the sand worked because it is like soil and it also has about the same minerals but i think it has grown more because the sand absorbs the water from the tub and gives the water to the plant so it has more water than the other one and because I planted the controlled.

Plant blog day one.

My groups question was if a plant needs dirt so we put sand and my hypothesis is the plant will not grow as high because sand does not have as many minerals and because it steals the water and I turn yellow for the same reasons. We also planted a normal plant called “controlled ” and it had light water and air also fertilizer and every the a plant needs to live. We manipulated the soil by putting in sand and every thing was normal and we put fertilizer in the sand.

Our controlled is 10 cm and our manipulated is 7 cm and yellow and it is growing  straight more then the controlled. the manipulated is growing slower and starting to grow faster at some points and our controlled is growing smoothly

Maglev final reflection

On day two was even more successful learning the properties help us first knowing like poles repel helped us but we had to find the poles with ones with the poles we used north. Also knowing more magnets = bigger maglev field helped us make our final design so we could make it carry 65 marbles and make ours the best out of my class. We placed magnets on the sides of the track and car so they were lined up so more repulsion and so it doesn’t attract to the side of the magnets on the track so it moves. Also we did 6 on each side of the track. We used strip magnet because they repel good and because they have the same repulsion so not bouncy but at first we also used disc magnets and that was a fail so we changed it and it worked

One thing thing that failed is when we tried to have a few strip magnets along the side like we did with the disc magnets but with short strip magnets but it was to bouncy again and we did not learn from the disc magnets. Another thing that failed was when we tried to have to have the whole thing all magnets but that did not work so we tried another fail when we just did one in the middle on the track and the train but still did not work. We learn from our mistakes try to make it look like train tracks on the sides only so it is not bouncy and that is how we got 65 marbles on our train an make it so efficient. The changes we made is when we took away the extra strip and stacked them and boom it worked so well no one would of expected it.

I learned the E.D.P. Is very frustrating mainly when you work so hard and it does not work like with the time we did all the track solid magnets and it didn’t work so we tried something else. I also learned about E.D.P. keep trying and you will succeed and cheers will happen Also I learned even professionals fail so everyone fails too so don’t get sad when you fail. Also failure is ok because who know not to do that so you learn from your failure. I also learned it never starts because when you’re improving you asking what to improve and the whole thing is improving and it never ends.

I also learned about teamwork shut your mouth shutting your mouth shut is good because you won’t argue Also I learned be nice and they will be nice to you and mainly HELP because everything is better when you’re part of team. And so you can do it easier and faster and tht is a lot better than yell yell yell so try to be a good team mate and that will make everything better and better is better Also encorage each other. and they will do good stuff like my group did and it really worked because we got 65 marbles

Maglev day one

A MagLev train is a train that floats above the track making less friction making less friction is good It works because it floats above the track by repelling over the track instead of attracting. Also if it was in a tube with no air (outside) it can go 1,800 miles per hour that is like 700 times faster than the fastest man on earth. (Usain Bolt)

Our first idea was to use strip magnets on the sides of our track and car and a disc magnet on the car and five on the track we thought that would and more repulsion and so more power and also we chose that idea by compromising but we were wrong read more to find out what went wrong

And  we tried to add more to fill in the gaps, but some were repelling the other ones. Also another problem was still it was uneven with repulsion power  so we took out all the disc magnets and it was all even so that was what we did, but still there were a few problems like the car sometimes attracted to the sides of the track. Also because it did not go that fast so now we are working on it to make it better so it can carry more people (marbles) so it is the most efficient so it is better and cooler.

My experience with my group was GREAT my group (just Tony. Ryan was not here) my group did not have an argument Tony was help full to he help me tape the magnets and checking north or south he also helped me get magnets from Mrs. Magnets (my teacher) also he helped me think (a little) so he was so helpful. also after Ryan had a good idea which I will tell you in my next post. They were very helpful I would give them a 9.9999999 out of 10

Expert book

I just made my first published book, an expert book about wolves. I  spent many weeks on it and I put a lot of work into it. I think you will like it.

I chose this topic because they’re cute and they’re my favorite animal. I also chose this topic because wolves are BRUTAL and DEADLY.

I enjoyed making this book because I got to research about wolves and because we learned how to add a link, add pictures, post it on our blogs, and more. The challenging part was remembering to do it at home.  I hope you will enjoy it because here it is:

The History of Typography

During our class time in the computer lab, Mr. Casal showed us a video about the history of typography. After watching this video I learned
that typography is just different styles of writing. I also learned the German man invented typography.  Also I learned that  helphetica was the worlds favorite. I think that the video was cool and must of tuck along time to make. I think that the video was stop motion animation. my favorite is sans serif because the serifs look weird. The modern looks like  this. modern has thin serifs and thin contrast between thin and thick. I learned that William Caslon the 4th invented the sans serifs.

here is the video we watched:

Sunflower

I’m in a beautiful Garden called Heathcote sitting in the middle.

With my bright green stem and roots deep under the ground with my yellow flower.

I’m a sunflower .

I feel a breeze making my stem  sway left to right in the burning sun

With my friends red tomato, sunny rattish  mr. eggplant.

I’m a sunflower.

And bees buzzing next to me.

Last month I was so much smaller and my leaves were more dainty.

Next month I will be freezing cold and I will be dead.

I’m a sunflower.
