Blog Post #3

Hello Everyone. Today I will be talking about my finished Capstone project. I really enjoyed making a Video on Artificial Intelligence in the Medical Field. I prefer using a Video over Screencasts, TedTalks and Ignites.

I enjoyed just making the video during the process of it. I encountered some challenges such as; Noisy Background, Stumbling in my speech, and wrong timing for videos and the words.

I am looking forward to sharing my final project very much because I thought it was really good. I hope you like my presentation!

Capstone Blog Post #2 – Interviewee

In school, we interviewed people for our Capstone projects. I will be telling you all about it today.

My interviewee’s name was Gaurav Khanna. He works for Contessa Health as Senior Vice President, Technology. I interviewed him because I knew he works with AI in the medical field. We emailed and messaged each other. We finally came up with the time. I asked many questions related to my sub-questions. I learned that AI is used in so many ways in the medical field. My biggest challenges during the process were coming up with questions.

I learned that AI in healthcare takes a lot of work. I also learned that AI is a very good tool in the medical field.

Capstone Blog Post #1 – AI In The Medical Field

In school, we are doing a capstone project. My project is about AI in the medical field, and what are the Pros and Cons of it. It is a very interesting fun topic.

My main inquiry question is, “What are the top five disadvantages of artificial intelligence?”  My teacher was helpful while I was choosing my inquiry question. She helped me develop it from a 2-star question to a 4. The challenging part of choosing my inquiry question was, choosing the way I needed to say it.  My teacher helped me develop those words to fit more with the meaning.

I have learned that I can be a quick learner. In some topics, I am really quick. Others, not so much. I thought to myself at the start, “Wow, I really hope I do well.” Now, “Yes! I have got this.” I am so excited about my Capstone project!

Come back on June 15th for my next Capstone blog post all about my final project.

Building My Colony – As a Soldier

Building our colony took a very long time. However there were problems. Since I am the strongest person in my colony, I helped carry all the heavy things, stabilize all the buildings, and put on the roofs of some house. I also helped a slave and indentured servant build the big house. We had to get up at dawn and work till dusk. We did not really have much free time to do what we pleased. When we finally finished, we felt really tired. But we also felt proud.

Colonial America – Pt 2 – Persona

We are doing Colonial America in class. It is really cool!. This is about who I am, what I do in my freetime, and my backstory…

I am a soldier. I am 18 years old. My mother died when I was born. And my dad got shot by the Spanish armada. So I went to the Southern Colonies because I didn’t have anyone to live with. I live by myself in a little house next to the blacksmith and slave quarters. In my freetime I work at the blacksmith as a gunsmith. I make the guns I use to fight off the natives and the Spanish. I am friendly with all the slaves and indentured servants. I work for Scott Peterson (The Plantation Owner). We have an militia that I am the head soldier of.

I really enjoy being a soldier because we are starting the american revolution. I will be a big part in this. I am very excited!!

Colonial America – Pt 1 – Overview

In class, we had to create colonies in groups. We had to pick jobs and vote for the governor. I am the head soldier in the militia fighting against the Spanish and Natives. In my free time, I work as a gunsmith. I use the guns I make to fight. I really like being a soldier! We are starting the American Revolution, I will really enjoy it. I am really excited because we are starting to build our colony! I am really excited!

Plant Blog Post #2

My class has been studying plants. My group decided to exchange the soil with rocks. For the past 2-3 weeks, we have been taking notes and measuring our Manipulated and Controlled plant.

My Control plant’s measurements started off as 2 ½ cm then 3 cm, 4 cm, 6 cm, 13 cm, 14 cm, 15 cm, 16 cm then 17 cm. Man, it has grown a lot since the beginning.

My Manipulated plant’s measurements started off as 1 cm then 2 cm, 3 cm, 4 cm, 4 ½ cm, 5 cm and then 5 ½ cm. It turns out it shrank, not grew.

I think this happened because the roots in the manipulated could not absorb the water at the bottom.

Plants: Day #1

Our class is studying plants. We were wondering if the plant would grow even with different soil? We thought that we could add rocks to our plant instead of soil. My Control plant has 4 flowers, 34 buds and is 15 cm tall. My Manipulated plant has rocks instead of soil and has 0 buds, 4 are dead and it is 4 cm tall.

My Control plant has been changing. It started off as 2 ½ cm, 3 cm, 4 cm, 6 cm, 13 cm, 14 cm then 15 cm.

My Manipulated plant started off as 1 cm and then still 1 cm the next day, then 2 cm, 3 cm and then 4 cm in the next two days. My Control compared to my Manipulated shows that the Control has grown more. The rocks is not working out as a change for the soil, I wonder why?
