Rube Goldberg Post 6

Now that the Rube Goldberg project is coming to an end, we are done with our Rube Goldberg and we are making the video for our presentation. Overall, I think the Rube Goldberg project was really fun and I learned a lot in the process. Mostly I thought it was really fun working as a team and figuring things that didn’t work out the first time. I learned that working as a team was hard because you have to agree on your decisions. You also shouldn’t blame anyone if something doesn’t work right. I thought the Rube Goldberg project was a really good experience and I had lots of fun And learned a lot.

Rube Goldberg Post 5

In our last meeting, we made some updates to our Rube Goldberg. We changed the ping pong ball at the beginning to a golf ball because the ping pong ball was too light. We also perfected the end with the acid base reaction. We took some more videos and time lapses of us Building the Rube Goldberg. After that, we decided to make a successful run through of our Rube Goldberg. Santi was going to do the editing for the video. Then all of a sudden, we had a big argument about whether we should add humor to our video. Matthew said we shouldn’t make our video funny but Santi said that he wanted to add humor. I didn’t really care if our video was funny so we made a compromise. If our Rube Goldberg did fail, Santi would get my Nerf gun and shoot some stuff like he was raging. We did fail so Santi got his wish and we kept filming and picking videos we would use in our presentation. We went downstairs to wait for Santi to do his work while Matthew and I did our homework. Then we had a small break and And Santi and Matthew left, ending the meeting. I’m super hyped to see the result of our video!

Rube Goldberg Post 3

For our meeting, we tested our Rube Goldberg a bit more. We changed it a bit so the chance of failure is a lot lower. We changed a ramp so the ball would have a higher chance of hitting the dominoes. The ball used to miss the dominoes a lot. That’s why we had 37 fails from our meeting on Friday. (2nd blog post)We had our first success after 42 fails!

After our success, we decided to add some more steps to our Rube Goldberg because our Rube Goldberg was around 50% ramps and dominoes. We added a marble run contraption, which was really challenging. (A marble run contraption is a contraptions made of all kinds of tubes, and a marble goes through whatever contraption you built.)We had to secure the contraption with lots of tape. Once we did that, we discussed how else we can improve our Rube Goldberg with some really cool ideas, like a Nerf gun in the beginning. and went downstairs because our meeting had to end soon. After the meeting ended, my mom and I discussed some more ideas for the Rube Goldberg. My mom got a really cool idea that had something to do with acid base reactions. Now I’m super hyped for our next meeting!!
