This week I learned a lot about metals.
Metals have certain properties that separate them from non metals. For example, metals are lustrous, which means they are shiny. Metals are also conductive, which means electricity can travel through them easily and quickly. The last property is metals are ductile. That means they can be easily made into wire.
I also watched a Nova video about metals. It was about many different kinds of metals, what makes them unique, the properties, etc. What interested me the most from that video was when they showed how to make steel from trash. Basically you melt a piece of trash into a carbon, because steel is an alloy of iron and carbon. Then you put a piece of pure iron and melt those together to get steel.
Learning about metals was pretty interesting and I learned a lot!
