Hi Everyone!

So Sorry! I never pressed “published” when we reviewed the homework on the smart tv at school…

Tonight’s Homework is the following..if its not done with these questions in mind, that is ok…I know you have the concert tonight and it was my mistake:

Read” Excerpt from Hattie Big Sky”

You should be doing a CLOSE READ of this passage.

What does that mean?

Read it 2 Times!

First Read: Read to understand the main idea behind the passage

Second Read: Focus in significant details (Why did the author choose this setting? What is the problem/conflict in the story? What is the theme in the story?)

Word Study: Work is due for your teacher tomorrow

Wednesday, March 7, 2018

Hi Everyone,

Hope you are all staying warm and having some fun on this snow day!

Just a quick note, I put 2 assignments up on Readworks that can be finished for this Friday. One is a short narrative fiction text on theme (what we have been talking about) and the second is an informational text. There are comprehension questions for both.

I know that some of you do not have internet access right now. Please do not worry…I will give you time to do the work in class.

Hope to see you all tomorrow!

~Mrs. Volpi
