Moon Blog March 15th

Today marks day seventeen of our moon phase blog. You will be expected to:

  • go outside to view the moon
  • record your observations on my blog
  • include date, time and conditions of the sky when you observed
  • and include a fact you know or just learned about the moon or anything interesting about astronomy
  • maybe try the sky guide app

Make sure to proofread over what you have written to make sure that you included capital letters, proper punctuation, correct spelling and that your post makes sense. Have fun!

Moon rise time:  10:11p.m.

Moon set time: 9:22a.m.

  1. Today March 16th (moon of March 15th) at 7:00am. The sky was a little cloudy but mostly sunny. I did not see the moon. I think I did not see the moon because it was too late in the morning the sun was just rising and covering up the moon. Maybe if I went out to look for the moon earlier in the morning I would have seen the moon.

  2. Today is March 15th at 6:15pm and I see grey, grey, grey! It is probably from yesterday’s storm. I can see no sign of blue. The far side of the Moon looks quite different due to its lack of maria.(ancient pools of hardened lava)

  3. Today is March 16th at 8:04AM. WhenI looked up at the sky it was sunny with some clouds. When I looked up at the sky I could not see the moon.

  4. Today is March 15th even though I looked at March 16th 7:30am. The sky is clear. The moon is a waning gibbous. Its in the second stage of waning, and when it was the second stage of waxing the moon rose at 9am and set at 10pm. If you change the am and the rose to the pm and if you change the pm and the set to a am, you will get the same exact time that it rises and sets now.

  5. Today at 7:35 A.M. March 15th the sky was blue and clear, after that far in the distance I saw a Moon! It was probably A full moon but maybe not. Later I saw the moon in a different place in like 30 mins.

  6. Today at 8:10PM March 15th 2017. I saw the moon I used an app called star map it was on the east side of the sky.

  7. Today is March-15 7:00 am it was a waning gibbous moon. Did you know nobody has been on the moon in the past 41 years?
