Writing: Wrapping it all up

Writer’s, you have reached the end! Literally, it is now time to start writing the end of your fantasy story. Watch the introductory video to learn about different ways you might end your story. And much like the introduction, it is best to try out a few different endings before choosing the one that fits your story best. If you haven’t started typing your story yet, please make that a priority today. You can ask for help with the typing if that makes it easier for you. 

  • First, watch Imaginative Narrative #9 Video above with Mrs. Boyer
  • Use the slides as mentor texts~ This is in your writing folder: Imaginative Narrative #9 Slides
  • Watch Imaginative Narrative Part 6
  • Write at least two different endings, then choose one that fits your story. 
  • Share it on SeeSaw if you finish it today. 

READING: BOOK CLUBS & BINGO

Continue reading your agreed upon book amount and create a NEW BINGO board activity. Please be sure to tell us what book you are reading and which activity you chose. Post your activity on the Seesaw.

Please look at your new sort for this week. Complete a few activities per day (about 15 min).  Leave the writing sort for Friday, otherwise it will erase your data.  You may have to repeat blind and speed sorts more than once to receive 100%.Check all assignments on Friday, then submit all. www.pearsonrealize.com.

Math: Graphing Project- Day 2

Today is an exciting day… you get the results of your surveys! Watch the lesson carefully to see how to get your data, how to fill out a data table, and how to fill out each graph. 

  1. Take some additional surveys: Grade 3 Survey Questions 
  2. Get your results from your Google Form 
  3. Complete the data table on Slide # 6 (Slides are in your Math Folder called, “Graphing Project: Day 2”
  4. Choose one or more graph to represent your data 
    1. Graphing Templates are in your Math Folders to edit with Kami
    2. Graphing Templates to Print. Show on Seesaw or June E-Learning Slideshow 

Social Studies: Queens part 2

Watch today’s video to learn a lot more about Queens and some amazing landmarks it has to offer. As we’ve learned in yesterday’s presentation, Queens is a very large borough. There is so much to see and do and its history is just remarkable!

Good Morning 3D! Today is Wonderful Wednesday!

Please watch the video first, then read the blog for closer details.

Remember to plan out your schedule for the day with breaks.  Try to plan around a 9-3 school day, so you can finish your work early. Also, use the checklist at the end of our post to make sure you completed your assignments for the day. If you have any problems completing anything please leave us a comment on your E-learning slides to keep us posted about any conflicts. Last, it is VERY important you watch all videos that we post since these are our lessons to help you complete assignments.

REMINDERS:

  • Mrs. Gelosa and Mrs. Dolma are commenting and checking assignments on your E-learning slides daily. Please read the comments and “reply” as needed. I will write a recap on Friday for you to review.

READING AND WRITING: BOOKCLUBS

Today, after doing your agreed upon reading, you will be posting on your Book Club’s Padlet page. Watch the video today to hear about the Dos and Don’ts of writing on Padlet. I put this slideshow in your reading folder too for you to refer to during bookclubs.

While you are commenting on each other’s posts, please be sure to be respectful. These comments are meant to help each other, ask questions and push each other in a positive direction.  These are our friends we are talking to, so remember the golden rule- do onto others as you would like done to you. If you would not like it said to you, don’t say it to someone else.

MATH: CAPACITY AND WORD PROBLEMS

Watch this video below. You will learn how you can find the capacity of many containers as well as a mini challenge for you to think about.

 

Watch this video below to see some different strategies on solving word problems with capacity.

Copy and paste these slides to your April E-Learning Slideshow under math.

You can draw bar models, draw pictures, write a number sentence or use a combination of the three to solve these two word problems. Think through your work and make sure you show how you solved the problem.

On April 29, 2004, the National World War II Memorial opened in Washington, D.C., to thousands of visitors, providing overdue recognition for the 16 million U.S. men and women who served in the war. The memorial is located on 7.4 acres on the former site of the Rainbow Pool at the National Mall between the Washington Monument and the Lincoln Memorial. Numerous communities and artists have designed and built memorials to commemorate events in history. If you were to design a memorial to help people in the future learn about this time that we are living through right now, what might it look like? Share your design and thinking on SeeSaw.
